How many Trick or Treaters?

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Our neighborhood was deluged with little ( and not so little!) trick or treaters last night. Our houses are close together, and all decorate for the night. I play a scary Halloween tape with howling & screams plus greet the kids in my Gorilla costume.

I keep track for all the neighbors on our porch post. 391 beggers last night. I got too cold & lazy or I could have hit 400+

How many did the rest of you have or did they all come to my house????

Pflugerville, TX(Zone 8b)

3 big bags of snickers and m&ms worth plus another bag and a half of DHs creme savers. I think that is some where around 200.

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

None, zilch, nada, no one, no kids, no parents, no animals, no candy, no gum, no treats, no money spent, no fun though. Waaaaaaaaa

I wanna dress in a gorilla costume and scare little kids out of their wits!!!!

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Didn't keep track of how many, but went through 14 bags of goodies which equated to a calderon full, an extra large tupperware bowl, and a 3-1/2 qt ceramic bowl of goodes. I did hand out 3 or 4 items per kid though.

I've dressed up as a witch in the past, but not this year. This year I got scared by one of the tricksters! When I went to open the door a blood curdling scream ensued. I like to jump out of my skin. That was a group of teenagers (too old for treating IMHO). I had a lot of "too old" kids this year.....just doesn't make it as much fun although some did have great costumes most were half-hearted attempts at the holiday custom.

My favorite costume this year was a 7 or 8-yr old that was dressed as a wash tub.....one of those big rubbermaid totes with white balloons attached for bubbles and a large sponge stuck on her head. So cute!

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

I'm so jealous! I live outside the city limits, and it's dark here by 5pm or so, so we never get trick-or-treaters. I always buy candy, but my DH ends up eating it! LOL!

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

I only had 5 kids..either we have no more kids living in the neighborhood, or they have better places to go. Not really worth the effort anymore..

Paris, TX(Zone 8a)

No Trick or Treaters. My porchlight doesn't work. (Sniff)

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Lots of Power Ranger wannabe's this year at my place. Along with the obligatory hords of princesses. "Scream" that mis-shapen bringer of death (both with and without blood) were my top 3 costumes this year.

There's a lot to be said for originality and also down-right cute-ness.

Newburgh, IN(Zone 6a)

Only had about 10. We live on top of a hill, kids would rather go where they don't have to walk so far to get the treats. They miss out at my house. I give out nice little pumkins full of stuff. (I guess if I expected 50 or more the size of the give out would be smaller.)

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8a)

93.......ran out of stuff......closed down all lights, etc...Elaine, in SW BC, Canada

Decatur, IN(Zone 5a)

I only had about 25 kids and only a few were from my neighborhood. We had it on Sunday and other areas had trick or treating on Saturday so I'm guessing this year kids got loaded.

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

The tricksters in my neighborhood have grown big enough to go to the areas in town where houses are closer and more kids are present. I'm actually in the county/just over the line/ and really don't miss it anymore. It was fun when it was wee little ones from just down the street.

I have really enjoyed all the pictures of them tho, so maybe that's sour grapes. smiling here. the sun is shining ... life is good.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Sounds like the Trick or Treaters from your areas were all bussed into mine!
Some new government program?

I had to take off my gorilla head a few times when little ones were too scared to approach. I even turned off the sounds a couple times too. It's all in good fun, but I don't want any nightmares because of me.

My favorite costume was a little mummy --all wrapped up in toliet paper! Really well done and extra effort. Lots of Power Rangers, Princesses, pirates, witches, Scream masks and a big fat Hershey Kiss. Mostly little people with a few taller than me.

Cape May Court House, NJ(Zone 7a)

Well I bought 348 pieces of candy and I had about 50 left! So I guess we had just a little under 300! I

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

CountryGardens, they are just precious! A Halloween visit from those two sweeties would have made my day!

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

My favorites were my little great neices & nephews who came early with their parents. Country Gardens, yours look sweet too! Ruby--if you had over 300, that doorbell must have really been ringing!
