personal e-mail list

Marysville, WA(Zone 7a)

I like the new mail system but am wondering if the list of personal emails shown on the Home Page will continue to accumulate ? It could possibly get to be quite long.

Doesn't each one disappear as soon as you click on it?

They don't seem to, and my knowledge of computer processes is so poor I am at a loss to know what to do,or expect.I don't think it is a problem, but more of a puzzlement.

Hmmm....... one possibility might be that when you're clicking on your e-mails & reading them, you're going back to the Home Page by pressing the "Back" arrow on your browser (i.e. Netscape or Internet Explorer) - instead of clicking on the Dave's Garden logo in the upper left-hand corner of the page.

Clicking on the "Back" arrow in your browser just goes back to the Home Page the way it last looked for you - it doesn't update anything. Clicking on the "Dave's Garden" logo, on the other hand, "refreshes" or "reloads" your Home Page - and then those e-mails that you have just read shouldn't be showing up in your Home Page anymore, because there's nothing new in them.

Hope this helps......

Thanks spklatt,I tried as you suggested but with no success.Archiving them in the 'mail' section is great, but accumulating on the home page can be a problem.

I've never had this problem; maybe I'm not diagnosing it correctly. Anyone else have any advice?

Remember that a member-to-member message (M2M for short) is like a discussion thread, with just two people participating. If you delete it, the other person loses their "share" of the "thread" they were participating in.

How Dave will deal with this question when the messages become too unwieldy to sort through....I dunno. But I don't think his plans call for complete deletion of any member mail.

After I respond to something, it disappears then I have to click on mail in the tabs to find it again.

Perhaps I was too anxious for an immediate result because now they are all gone. They remain in the 'mail' section,so it would appear that Shannon's suggestion works, although taking time for the machine to digest the command.Silly machine, why doesn't it think like me??????? Thank you Shannon and Terry, I need all the help I can get when it comes to computers.

As do we all from time to time! :-) You're welcome....glad it helped.
