Retiring a Thread

Is there any way to "retire" a thread when the "issue" (or whatever) is resolved so it's not cluttering up a forum?

As a newbie I still get a lot of useful information from older threads, particularly in this forum. The older threads fall to the bottom of the list anyway which is in effect retiring them.

They could be retired to the Classics Thread and not be in the way at all.
