Light bulb storage

Newburgh, IN(Zone 6a)

I am wondering, does anyone else have difficulty with storing lightbulbs. I have a special closet just for them, but they still seem to get all messed up and fall out when I am retreaving one. Is there a product for storage out there somewhere? I did a net search and did not find any. I think the problem is that they are so light. You stack them up and then when you need one on the bottom the others come along. This time of year, when the days get short, I start closet cleaning. The light bulb closet always frustrates me.

This is a wonderful question MsM! I don't have a separate closet for them, but a shelf in my utility room that they share with other stuff. You're right, the piles of light bulbs are "high maintenance". One solution we're going to do is to buy longer-lasting light bulbs-there's some out there that last more than 5 years - one wouldn't need so many spares. But that's doesn't solve the problem at hand!! Maybe one of those cool plastic drawer storage containers that are in the stores now. Get one that has drawers small enough to fit one bulb or one or more package of bulbs.

I think a nice big plastic storace box...the clear kind that would fit on a shelf...would be just right...just leave them in the "sleeve" and put them in there. Jo

I store mine in a card board box stacked standing up so I can see the size when I pull the box off the shelf. I also store the box on middle shelf because I'm short and the over head grab for them usually has them end up on the floor. You know how good they work after you drop them on the floor..lol
