Subscribers?

I know there are close to 125,000 members but curious how many of those were subscribers.

That's a cool thread. Wonder why there aren't more? I can't imagine all of those members who wouldn't want to join up for such a small fee. :-)

A lot of folks use our free features and they're happy with that. In the overall scheme of things, there are really very few features here at DG that one must pay to use. Only the forums, and some of the advanced features of the Plants Database are off limits to non-subscribers.

But the forums are the best! They just don't know what they're missing. I've made so many good friends from the forums and learned so much from them. It's a wonderful thing, you've done, Dave. Thanks.

Oh yeah, I had forgotten that was there. It’s a great idea. I spent quite awhile as a non-subscriber before I subscribed. Maybe lots of the other non-subscribers will (like I did) eventually pay to see what all the hubbub is about, and then they will be ours, FOREVER! LOL

Another question, Dave. If I understand you, members have access to everything except forums and advance features of the plant data base. Do they have limited access to the forums? I know that I have talked to people on the forums and then found out they were not subscribers. How does that happen?

One thing that just occurs to me that never did until after I subscribed is how all the different pieces integrate. Even after just a few days, I'm just beginning to recognize how well and how easily subscribers can reference and communicate using the other components and tools fo the site, I stumbled (literally LOL) into the chat room last night and people were talking about stuff complete with references and links from their journals, the plants database, and their trade list....how cool is that! That is sort of an intangible benefit of subscribing that would have never occured to me when I was a non-subscriber.

I knew as soon as I found DG, that I wouldn't be able to stand surfing around but not being a subscriber...the choice was easy! And, one of the last outstanding values available these days. BTW, I think PvillePlanter's post immediately above would make an excellent addition to the testimonials page - with PvillePlanter's permission of course! :-)
