I have a LARGE basket that I keep my catalogs in, alphabetized - and when I get a new one from the same company - the old one gets tossed and the new one's put in. I LOVE looking at them and dreaming and buying and ......

Catalogs are good!

While I buy a lot of things off of the Internet, I still love my paper catalogs. I keep a stack handy by my favorite chair and spend many an hour in the winter planning and dreaming what to plant in the spring.

Yep, nothing can replace the turning, dog earing, marking, the pages of garden catalogs.

I agree 100%

But think of the catalogs ya could send for using all these links therin ???

I do also like the internet tho, while I'm cruising the on-line catalogs.....

I can always open another window to do a picture google on a certain plant.

To many times disappointed that my plant nowhere resembled the catalog 'cutie'.

It's so fun to look through catalogs! Our one friend always has many of them, and likes for people to go through and circle and initial the stuff they like so she has an idea of what to get them for Christmas. I like the Collections, Etc. Catalog https://www.collectionsetc.com/catalogRequest.asp?SessionID=0C82E39B-0B97-45FF-8160-05E1F49C9A30 -- everything's $14.95 or less.

A neat catalog site is http://catalogcity.com -- you can get on many mailing lists there, and once you're on one, your info is rented and/or sold to other merchants who will send you more.

Kim, If you get back to the Chicago area, Collections, Etc has an outlet store not too far from me!! If you like their catalog, you'd love their outlet store!!

Be VERY careful when you request catalogs! I sent for one that listed truck stops that accepted RV's for overnight parking (security, gas, food, etc.). Apparently they sold their mailing list and for a year I was snowed under with catalogs dealing with truckers, truck repairs, truck parts, etc., etc., etc.! LOL My mailman was SO confused, I think he expected to see an eighteen wheeler parked in my yard!

Yes, you will get on the oddball lists, that's for sure. Considering my hubby's job depends on direct mail (he programs on the personalization side for a company that prints such things as credit card mailings, Publisher's Clearinghouse, etc.), I don't mind getting junk mail. It's our livelihood, LOL!

GW - who does your DH work for?

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

He works for RR Donnelley & Sons (his division is RRD Direct). RR Donnelley does book, catalog and magazine printing - just about everything, I guess. They had an article in a company newsletter about a visit Tom Clancy made to the plant to see production. They also publish the Lakeside Classics books and give them to the employees each year.
