Watching the Series?

Springboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I'm on DG while my dear hubbie is watching the series. Wondering how many others were doing the EXACT same thing! :)

Springboro, OH(Zone 6a)

No takers???

Colorado Springs, CO(Zone 6a)

I'm there with ya! I was follwing the Astros (I'm originally from Houston) and now I can't decide who I want to win. My fiance has definitely kept the remote captive for the past several weeks though, I can only last through so many innings before I get tired :)

Coopersburg, PA(Zone 6b)

aria and i are watching the series 'together' ~ have been doing so since the sox were behind yanks 0-3 :>)

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Cardinals fan here whether they win or lose. In the 80's, I'd camp out with cousins and friends to get seats to the playoffs games and series games. Of course, unless you know the story behind it, saying you've had to sleep on the streets of St. Louis sounds kind of strange. I actually had to talk an instructor in college into delaying an exam as I knew I wouldn't be finished getting the tickets the next morning before classes started. The excitement of being at a World Series game, especially when you have a team to root for, is amazing. I wish I were in St. Louis for the next two games.

Coshocton, OH(Zone 6a)

we have the computer and the tv in bedroom, so we can do both. we have been watching series together, but we fight who going to be on the computer.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Being from Massachusttes I don't need to add to this, now do I? Glued to it with Toby and messenger cheering on our beloved Red Socks along with all the Red Socks Nation. And, please. allow me to mention our other heros, the feisty Patriots of New England.

Northport, ME(Zone 5b)

Maria, I was hoping to see Pedro pitch against Clemmens. (The pitchers have to bat) "I wasn't aiming for his head" Good show so far. I'd rather watch the Pats. (I like the Steelers too) Frank

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Hey Frankay, just keep your fingers crossed and knock on wood for both of them may they never lose! Actually, I don't see why a pitcher has to know how to bat seems kind of silly, that's like asking a batter to pitch LOL

L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

Oh, yes. I've been watching every game. I "hate" the Cardinals. I can't like any team that beat up on my Dodgers. GO SOX!!!!!!! Sorry, Smiln, but that's how it is. ;-)

Newburgh, IN(Zone 6a)

Oh yes yes, I too am watching every game. Go Cardinals, I have met Scott Rolen and he is a real gem. Have many of his autographs and even a picture with his arm around me. To bad he is married and I am so old. He was born and raised just about 40 mins from here. We are all Cards (Rolen) fans around here. Big Cardinals flag on my mail box. I could go on and on, but I will spare you all, lol.

Kelli,

No hard feelings. It's only a game. :) I'd apologize about them beating up on the Dodgers, but, well... I just can't. :)

When I worked in Human Resources a few years back, the man who owned our company United Industries decided to invest in the Cardinals, too. When I say "invest", I mean INVEST. He is one of the minority owners of the team. It was also nice that his secretary and I were good friends. I could get tickets to the games on many occasions and sit in seats where you could read the radar gun. We got to use one of the boxes, too, for an HR outing. I got off the elevator that evening and faced Ozzie Smith. It was pretty neat. I need to find one of my Mark McGwire photos and scan it in. It was great fun the year he hit 70 Home Runs. Anyway, that's not my claim to fame, but it's sure easy to cheer a team from 6 rows back. :)

L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

MIL is from Missouri, so she likes the Cardinals. If it wasn't for me, DH would probably like the Cardinals, too.

I guess I shouldn't like the Red Sox, either, since they really worked over the Angels, but I like the Dodgers a little better than the Angels. Besides, the Red Sox have better looking guys than that Cardinals, IMO. DH would say, "You just like whoever has the best butt." LOL! What can I say? Gotta be silly some times. ;-)

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

That's right, Kelly, it's the only way to look at games with lots of fun and being silly and may the best team win.............. which will be the Red Socks and it's good looking guys LOL
Maria

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Yeah, the Cardinals are looking a bit sad right now. Maybe they'll perk up tonight. May the best looking team of men win. :)

L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

I'm sure all of the DG men looking at this thread are rolling their eyes at all this girl talk. :-) They're just jealous 'cause it's a dimension of sports that they can't participate in. ;-)

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

There you go, California girl!
Like what's happening so far!

L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

Good game, but I didn't want to say anything until the game was over. I didn't want to jinx anyone.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

I know, I feel that way too many times as a matter of fact I have to turn away when it gets hairy

Coopersburg, PA(Zone 6b)

ditto on that! so we won't say anything to jinx the game tomorrow - hehe!!!

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Right, maybe we ought to stick together again, Toby?

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

This is so depressing to watch. Uggghhh.

Coopersburg, PA(Zone 6b)

it's worked for the past 7 games :>)
i think we oughta try one more time!!!!

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Of course can't wait

Newburgh, IN(Zone 6a)

I am so depressed. Come on Cards get going. Why don't you copy the Sox? You know, win the last four. :-( I am calling my daughter to protest, she lives in LA and is rooting for the Sox.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Poor Msmaati,, I know just how you feel, felt that way for ever about our RS.
Don't you think they FINALLY deserve to win? I would vote for your team had they been through what the yanks have put them through forever..
Your daughter must feel that way or she would not cheer the RS on.
Could be they'll lose tonight, how much can they keep this up, but in the end the RS will deservingly perservere.
Maria

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

I watched the game #3 last night, first time in years I have watched a Series Game. Pedro (?) pitched one wonderful game.

I doubt I will watch it tonight... couldn't stand the suspense. I'm not a fan of either team but do feel like the Sox need to break the BR "curse", real or imagined.

Newburgh, IN(Zone 6a)

Not that I am supersticious or anything, but if it will help the Cards win I will post these little fans to help them along. Googooogoogogogooooo cards. LOL sorry could not resist when I saw this picture.

Coopersburg, PA(Zone 6b)

top of the 7th - just 2 more innings to go!!!????

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

I can't bear to look anymore.

Coopersburg, PA(Zone 6b)

dunno - there's been some really great plays goin on......

Lewisburg, KY(Zone 6a)

Way to go BOSTON!

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

Well, being a born and bred Massachusettsian (is there such a word ?) of course, I had to cheer for the Red Sox and yes, Aria, the Pats are pretty good too! Way to go RS!!!

Kelli, years ago (I mean a lot of them), I went to Fenway Park and sat behind the California Angels bullpen and watched them just slaughter the Red Sox. I thought that might make you feel a little better :) I don't think the Sox had one point in that game.

I am grateful I did not marry a sports fanatic. My father and brothers were/are and Saturdays and Sundays were lost to the elements of sports growing up!!!

I'll cheer from afar.....LOL

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

I think of the Red Socks Nation with all its fans who have waited for the Red Socks to to finally get rid of the ghosts but never lived to see it including my DH.
Four straight wins with records broken again , what a series, It is almost too hard to belief.
Maria

Newburgh, IN(Zone 6a)

Well, Congratulations all you Sox fans. Your team was really up fot the series. My condolances to all the rest of us.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Thank you, MsMatti, for your gracious congratulations! Since 1918 the Red Sox Nation said every year after losing one more time
"WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR" so take heart you turn willl come I only hope you will not have to wait 86 years.

L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

I guess you can say that the "curse of the Bambino" was not idiot-proof.

Last year I wanted to see the Cubs and Red Sox in the World Series, but that didn't happen. This year, the Red Sox were my third-favorite team. I really don't know why. My fourth-favorite was the Cubs and my fifth-favorite was the Diamondbacks. I didn't keep track beyond that.

MsMaati, see what happens to teams who disrespect the Dodgers. ;-) But if it makes you feel any better, you can post some more of your Scott Rolen pictures. We all have to wait 5 months to see our guys on t.v. again. You might have to save your goat picture for the Cardinals/Cubs games. I'm sure you know about the curse of the goat. Are those your goats? My favorite animals at the county fair are the goats. I like the ones with the droopy ears (Nubian?).

Newburgh, IN(Zone 6a)

Not my goats, county fair goats, look at these sweeties, I like goats too.
