Groan!

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

My day didn't go as planned, which was moving more of my stuff here.

Yesterday, my neighbor had the Power Co. come and take down a dead sycamore that could have fallen on the lines. I had 2 dead ones close by and they took those down as well. However, they take NO debris... My 2 trees (100' + each) landed where the propane folks need to get to Tuesday to installl a propane tank and underground lines to the house.

So this morning, I hired a helper to come cut/move the tree sections out of the way. No way to get them all cut up before the propane guys show up. I hurt everywhere now and may not be able to walk tomorrow!

Here's the tree down in the side yard where the propane lines need to go... We did get most of it moved aside.

Oh, doggone it. What a glitch to happen. Too bad they couldn't have cut them so they fell out of the way (not if it meant into the house, though, LOL).

So sorry you are so far away. I have a Husky chain-saw and a dinky trailer but we could clean that up in an hour or two. We are paying $140 for a cord of firewood up here. Maybe the propane guys will help. Keep us posted. Frank

How are you doing, Darius?

Tired and disgusted... but not disillusioned. :)

Don't make me come over there, girl, lol

Frank, there's easily 6-8 cords of firewood, once it's all cut up. (That includes the 2 downed trees on my neighbor's property and he doesn't want the wood.)

GW, they downed them in the only place they could. The one that was in the driveway they took down in 16' sections and a neighbor came with his tractor and a chain on Saturday and pulled them out of the driveway, off to the side. I'm planning on an ad in the paper, offering them free if someone will come cut them and haul them away.

I DO plan to saw up a couple cords for myself first, though.

Oh geez....what a pain. At least you'll get firewood out of it......

I have about half the tree that was down over my garden area burned up so far.

Love to be able to tell you I would bring my chainsaw, marshmallows and we could have a great fie with the brush but alas real life is calling me for duty. A girl can dream though!
Best wishes in cleaning up the mess .... the brush is the worst part though and seems endless. Hope you will get enough good burning out of it even if it is a sycamore to keep you warm on some winter's evenings.

S'mores. Oh, man, don't get me thinking about s'mores, Dianne! Happy, happy birthday, Darius. Those are really the candles, aren't they? ;-)
