Pondering

crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

I'm sitting here typing this and looking out at my back yard which happens to be mostly oak trees. It seems that just a couple of days ago every thing had these gorgeous colors and that crisp clean smell to the air. But today the leaves are either falling to the ground or dark yucky brown glob on these stately trees. And the smell in the air is one of decaying leaves and other matter. Anyway...it just makes me wonder when I am going to finally slow down enough to enjoy the beauty surrounding me. Does anyone else ever feel that time is becoming something a little more precious each day. Am I wasting it, or do I just not have enough? Lord I'm getting waaayyy to philosofical for my liking!!!!!

Just rambling,
Tina

Yes, someone else does!

Yes, all the time. And aren't the days getting shorter as we get older?

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

I once heard someone say that the reason the years seem shorter as we age as opposed to when we're little is the portion they represent in our lives as a whole. When you're five, a year is a fifth of your total time on earth. When you're ten, it's a tenth...And so on. Make sense?

So, one year is 1/48 of my total time on earth so far. Hmmm, never thought about it like that. Interesting.
Measured time then is not very long. ;~)

And when you think of time in the light of eternity it really gets short. No wonder we feel like we are in a hurry!

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Amen, MaryE. GOD's WORD says our lives are but a vapor. I will welcome eternity if for no other reason than that I won't have to hurry around just to get everything done in one 'day'. In GOD's timeing, that may be a thousand years, or more if there even are days in heaven. Since there is no night up there, days likely never end at all. However, for those whose go into eternity without JESUS as their personal savior there is no pleasure whatsoever in eternity.

I do understand the feeling that there aren't enough hours in the day or days in the week. Especially this past week. I think the most important thing we can do in a day is to give the day to our LORD first thing in the morning.

Hmmm. . . . .

Brugs in heaven, no insects, hail, freezes

How about tropical hibiscus blooming non stop.

It is hard to fathom what our "heavenly" garden will be like.

And the best part . . . no rushing!
