Hi pebble - I got back Wednesday and have been eating salads and tuna ever since. Groan - absolutely deliciously decadent. And paid the price when I was trying on new clothes today. I'm sure you can guess which forum has beckoned me. *grin*

By the way - I just tried to price flights to Bodrum and could not find anything from Dublin. OK, I'm resourceful - and tried to find a flight from Heathrow. Nada. What gives? I thought you could get anywhere from Heathrow.

Don't tell me I need to rent a boat.... ;-)

How does a wandering person with some spare shekels get to Bodrum?

Zany, I will try to post more photos of Bodrum., and yes, I am happy now. last winter I was miserable missing home and my son but I have adjusted I think....

Pebble, Neither Bodrum nor the picture of you was like I had pictured. You are such a pretty woman and so glad to finally see you in print :) What a view in Bodrum. I know you'd like to be back in the states, but that seems like a great place to visit. I was surprised by the mountains, I don't know why I picture it to be more desertlike and flat. I'm too sheltered!

Pebble, I have started "The Move" and now sleeping at my new place. I even have the coffee pot and coffee, but no cups yet, LOL. Probably take three weeks to get it all moved here, my truck is small.

I tried to check on fares and couldnt find anything out of new orleans. Is this a trip that i would have to book 2 different legs? Like to London and then london to bodrum?

at least ms. jen....usually when I used to come from the west coast, it would be portland to nyk, nyk frankfurt. then istanbul then bodrum
you should do a search to ISTANBUL THEN GET A COMMUTER TO BODRUM

I'm glad your adjusting to living there, they say it usually takes a year to begin feeling like home. Do you miss the rain from Oregon?

Kathy, you may not believe it, because I can hardly believe it myself, but yes, on occassion I do miss the rain of Oregon. It is a different rain here. often time it comes from the sahara desert and is very dirty, full of sand/grit/dirt and it makes a terrible mess especially of the car. after those rains, the car is covered with mud, I dont understand this at atll, but this is what they say it is.
I miss the gentle drizzle of oregon, the ice cold rain drops, that are so clean and clear....
I never thought I would miss the rain but I do....

I have Irish people coming out to see me all the time to buy property........
In fact, have one couple coming tonite, and two couples coming tomorrow night.....
I'll ask them how they came. (duh....flights the will say...)

either that or their arms will be very tired from flapping like a bird.... I have pending trips to Paris next week, Budapest the week after and back to the US for XMas. I'm definitely interested in getting out there - I'll try to figure out the bank holidays here.

pebble - hey there.... January is out - I'm going to Belize for 8 days at the end of January, but February would be wonderful. Maybe do a 4 day weekend towards the end of the month? *big grin* -- Now I'm motivated.... Hard part - I'll want to get a condo - I'm sure. >;-0

well....i heard that they parade a female camel around that is in heat, and then the male camels wrestle each other for her favors....Ive never gone cause I thought it would be cruelty to the camels....
