Mention of product sold by someone else

Hey Dave: I guess this is a question about proper ettiquite on DG. I wanted to mention the source of a CD I have purchased that has a number of DIY projects for ponds and water gardens and realized some sites don't approve since there is a chance the poster is advertising his own product. The CD is cheap, (10$) and done pretty well. It's fairly new. The ideas and plans were previously free but the guy decided he wanted to see if he could sell them. How would I go about this or can I? Our only restriction is that members don't try to create business opportunities for themselves. So, if you getting something in return for advertising the product on DG, it wouldn't be appropriate.

If, however, you believe the product is great and you don't have any ties to the company, and you're not receiving anything from him for doing it, then it will be just fine.
