Are you saying that every other post in this thread is white/grey? They are all white on my monitor. No shading at all.

Well, at work I can see the grey/white shading on the posts as well as on the main page that shows all of the threads. Weird. I wonder what setting I need to change on my home PC? Anyone want to venture a guess?

Those who can't see it may have their monitors' contrast and brightness set to where it doesn't show. It's very subtle. I like it!
