Feedback

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Dave,
Hi. Was wondering if its possible to have some sort of feature that would allow us to see the feedback that members have left for others.
To try to explain.. a member contacts me for a trade, i check their feedback and see their rating, and make my decision based off of their rating. But what if said trader is quick to give negative feedback to others. They themselves may be a good trader, but may never be satisfied with what they receive or the time it took. I'd kinda like to know the full spectrum.
Guess i'm asking because of somethng i read on another thread. The person in question had a great rating until "life happened" and then 2 negs followed. I got to thinking about how quick some members may be to giving negative ratings, and it might help in making the decision to trade or not.
Thanks
Jen

I pay attention to that on eBay a lot. It would be good here, too, I'd think.

The system keeps it because I can view the feedback I have left for others. I don't think you can see it, though.

Thats what i was trying to ask, lol.
Say you and i are trading...i can click on your name to see what others have said about you, but i find that i'm also curious about what you've said about other traders.
Jen
p.s......i only used you as an example to try to clarify what i was asking.

Ms Jen, I agree it would be very nice to see. However, with a bit of patience you can research some of what is posted. Do a member search for the person, then look at their postings. Check their trade offers and you can track down who they have traded with and see what they post. But I try to keep in mind, that some of the best traders are also some of the fastest to criticize what others do. There is a feeling of superiority that is rather unattractive, but human.

I would love to have such an organized, under control life that I could be as good a trader as some, but I don't. So, I try to avoid trading with someone whos feedback indicates that they might be impatient.

Quick tip - if you are looking at a member's feedback page and want to quickly get to another user's feedback page, just highlight the member ID in the URL and type the desired member ID over it:

(this works when you're viewing a member's DG homepage, too - any place that has the member ID in the URL)

I'm not much into trading, so there wouldn't be. Packing and shipping 20-30 thousand bulbs and rhizomes per year as my part time "fun" job, leaves little desire to do it on a casual basis.

lol, i hear ya, im still waiting on your catalog : )
just wanted to say i wasnt "checking up on you" youre name just happened to be right there, lol

We're still not going to do a print catalogue, but you can get a preview of what we're looking at for '05. Everything with a yes next to it is what I'm looking at importing. There are a few other items from other sources, but this is the bulk of it. Missing are the cannas, zingibers, EE's, and gloriosas

Give it a second as it's about 2.5 mb

Works better when I remember the link.

Remember there are two sides to a story. I am not here to mudsling or grandstand. I promise you I had my reasons for giving a negative feedback nor did I jump to jugdement. I will not be intimidated to change it ,because others do not like it. Dave put the feedback in place to protect others , and that is what I did. Believe it or not. This is a private matter ,and I will not debate with others on this subject.
Thank you.

Good grief. Give it a rest, if it's truly a private matter.

I actually had to do some digging, just to figure out what the heck you were talking about.

Rose,
This was not personal towards you. I know too well that there are 2 sides to every story and fully agree with it. Unfortunatley, because this is a webbased forum, we only see 1 side until the other side states their defense. Granted, its none of our business, but its easy to judge.
I think that adding the feature of being able to check "feedback given" is going to be great.
Jen
p.s. BT, i tried that link and it only loaded up half way and then said done..bummer, i was looking forward to seeing the new stuff.

Maybe try right clicking and chosing "save as". It is a large file, and if you're on dial up, that might work.

BT,
It is rested here. Thank you.

Rose,

We start bringing things in, about the first week in January, but the bulk arrives in late February to mid March. Bare root items come in around May.

To get back on the feedback track, I can see how it looks personal, and am glad that it's put to rest. I started to get my self involved in something, that I quickly realized was best left off the boards. It's easy to get sucked into.

Chris,

I agree. Enough said.

I am so glad you get the plants after the first of the year. I hope I am back to work by then, because you have allot the plants I want. I didn't say I needed them. LOL That gives me plenty of time to get rid of some plants by next year. I am looking forward to purchasing some of your plants.
Thanks,
Patti

I went back and read what i wrote and it does look condemning and judgemental. For that i'm sorry, it appears that i based my opinion without looking at all sides.
