Seedling Rubyline x Rubyline

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I want to name her Tatiana. A very beautiful name of a friend of mine.

Ashton, IL(Zone 5a)

Yes, I know people usually want to evaluate for a second season before deciding to keep or cull, but how could this one get better??? It's so beautiful already....

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

No doubt she is a keeper. The heat and humidity didn't bother her at all. I don't think she can do anything but get better.

Ashton, IL(Zone 5a)

Tatiana is perfect for her! :)

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Tatiana is a beautiful name for a beautiful brug, fits nicely, IMO....

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

I too like the name -- fits her nicely :)

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Absolutely gorgeous Donna ... can't wait to see more photos.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Great name for her Donna. Would love to see the children of a get together between your brug and Kell's brug.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Donna, that is one gorgeous brug. Boy, there are some nice ones coming out this year. I can't wait until some of them are available, so I can start culling.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Kell...this is a photo I saved from your Sexy Lady, when we were talking about color...maybe it will help with the question here!

That is not Sexy Lady Margie, you must mean "red.".

I love the name you picked, Donna. 4 syllables. That is unusual!

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Ophs....sorry....should I remove it from this post....really didn't want to turn the attention from the pretty pink Donna is posting about! What do you think?
BTW...your red is lovely too!

Syracuse, NY

Great Donna i love when they go from white to pink what a sutprise. keep a close eye on her Bob

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

I had a chance to see Donna's Rubiline#3 earlier this week. It's all she says it is and then some. What a beauty.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Well it is a beautiful name. Very elegant so I think it is perfect. I had heard the name on one of the T.V. shows I watch and really liked it then met a new friend Tatiana that is such a wonderful, sweet, and giving person how could I not name it for her. I thought about my grandmother, daughter, and grandsons but their names just didn't fit it. Tatiana really fits this brug.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Tatiana is a wonderful name for an extraordinary brug. Congrats, Donna! That flower is truly unique.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Beautiful name Donna for such a beautiful brug.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Pretty name Donna.

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Tatiana is a beautiful name and it reminds me of the name of ballerina! I had to go back and look at your pics! I think it's a fitting name. A beautiful name for a beautiful brug!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Pretty name, Donna.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Riddle me this. I was right there when each flower opened(5) and I pollenated them immediately with freshly pulled open EP pollen. No chance of contamination. The next 3 bloomed inside the house during TS Matthew and all pollen and stamens removed. I just cut it all out so not to tear up my flowers trying to get only pollen. The next 2 blooms opened out side and all the insides again were cut out. Well would you believe every flower that has bloomed has a seedpod. So is she self pollinating??????? There is absolutely no way any of the other 5 blooms could have been pollinated because there was nothing there to pollinate!!!!!!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Oh my gosh...that is really strange.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Well, I surely don't have any self pollinators and that is NOT a brag, ha!! Do buds ever start out brown and turn green?? If by chance I get a seed pod, how long does it take it to ripen?? Does frost hurt pods, and if it would should I dig up the brug and bring it in???

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Sherry -- they can take months. And from what I've read, sometimes when you dig them up, I'm afraid they can drop the pods. I have some on a whiskers cross that are four months old and still not ripe...

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

PS -- I have a seedling that was blooming all by herself. No other blooms on any other plants, and she is loaded with pods -- probably 10-12. The calyx has fallen off of them, and they are each about 2'' long and quite stout looking. I thought it very strange...

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Well, if this 'thing' happens to be a pod, I'll just run a light out there and keep it warm when it frosts, I have a close outlet. Thanks, Gretchen!!!! BTW, I need a cutting from the one that is loaded with pods, without special care, whew!! I really cannot imagine why I don't have pods, because I have a zillion crepe myrtle bees, and I've pollinated too. Oh, well.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Sherry -- why not take a picture and post it here? Which cultivar has it? Pretty fun if you have one. I was so excited when I found my first pods. I wasn't expecting them, so it was such a fun surprise. Now I can only hope that maybe their are some cute seedlings in them...

I love the color on this one. I, too received seeds of this one to grow out but it got a late start and I'm afraid I won't get to see blooms until next summer. I hope mine is just as beautiful as your's.

What does Rubiline#3 mean???? Mine is tagged Rubyline x Rubyline.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Mine is the 3rd one to bloom. That is how we are keeping track until they prove themselves and are registered and named.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

What do the other 2 look like Donna? Do you know?

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I haven't seen pic of #1 but Pete's #2 is very pretty . Different pink from mine, more hot pink looking and his tendrils don't curl up like mine. His has a strong recurve on the bloom too.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

What fun to have all these very special brugs here now. I just love it!

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Thanks, Gretchen!!! After all the wind and rain, I went back to look and one was gone and the other one has shriveled and if it was a pod, I think I'll have to wait on another one. Oh, well.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

her 3rd flush is jsut as nice as the first two even with cooler temps.
