shweeeet!!!

I first saw a SS when I was 14 (maybe younger?)...I was really taken with it (and at the time I was into mail carts and motorcycles!).

He better take good care of that one! That's an excellent classic! (Hope it stays in the garage, or do you let it close to the Mantis?)

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

nah he keeps it in the BIG barn for the winter and only drives her in the summer-its the original color-my favorite color green!

I luv my mantis too! ;) id be lost without it!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Original color!? Sheesh...that is definitely a treasure then! And when I come up that way, I'll buy a ticket for a ride in it!

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

shoe its the original color but not the original paint job-we have painted it twice

you get a ticket to ride free just buckle up and hang on-dh thinks he is an
EARNHARDT!

OOOOOOOOOOO-classic cars. Thought I was the only one wed to a gearhead. No picture here, but his website http://www.sewimustangs.com has lots , if you want to look at cars....his, AND friends and family. Don't look at the landscaping pics though they were done only two years after we built, and gardens look awful. Now we're in the process of adding a separate two car garage in addition to the 2 1/2, and 2 already attached to the house which means only that we will still have too many vehicles to shelter. AND he just bought a truck to "replace" his van, yeah, right, we'll just see if he gets rid of the van! Anyone want a van with 180,000 miles on it??? I didn't think so....

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Look so nice Cool!

Edgewater, MD(Zone 7a)

meezersfive, you are NOT the only one married to a gearhead, LOL. My DH has built several cars, his latest is a 355 in a chevy S10, he blew the engine when he got too squirrly after he put a super charger in it and the rings went. The rebuild is just about done now and in a couple of weeks he'll be putting it all back together stronger than ever. Thats kinda scary when I know how he drives but lots of fun for me when I get behind the wheel. LOL The funniest thing is driving that thing down the street and having some kid think he has a racecar with his Mitsubishi and I stomp him into the ground without even going to the floor. Woops did I just admit that? Well I guess the tire marks in the Home Depot parking lot did that for me, LOL.

Dori that car is GORGEOUS, you can telll you DH I said so, oh to be able to take a ride in that. Id like to see more pics of that, need some engine pics too, details woman!!!

Hey Notmartha, now you just might get MY DH to join Dave's!

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh no! I better not show my husband. He would be sooo jealous. My husbands first car was a 68 Firebird that he babied and rebuilt. He ended up selling it soon after he became a father and still pines for it. I just know that one day I am going to come home and there will be one in the driveway.

I got a taste of that possibility a month or so ago when I came home to a dunebuggy - something both step-sons (& my husband, of course) have been wanting forever. My younger DSS begged dad to go check it out after he found it in the paper. I told him "no way", but he ignored me! On his way back from checking it out, he told me he had not bought it. He thought it was hilarious when he unhitched it at the end of the street and had the 13 yo stepson drive it up to our house. I was just coming back from picking up fast food and needless to say, I was not happy. Darn thing is still in my Garage parking spot in pieces continually eating up money while he and my stepson rebuild it. Grrrrr!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Sweezel I know what you mean!!! My DH is that way about motorcycles - it's going to be bad when my son is old enough to join it! At least we can make gardening cheap if we try hard enough!!!

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Exactly! Now when he goads me about spending money on plants, I'll just remind him about the last $200 he spent on Dunebuggy parts. LOL

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Yep - I agree! Mine just spent $300 on new pipes for his moto that he just 'had' to have! I could buy 3 BIG trees for that!!!

Decatur, IN(Zone 5a)

sweezel, atleast you have him at home and not roaming the bars like other married men. I agree, now he shouldn't comlain about how much you spend on plants.

We are in the midst of "Cruising the Coast" down here in MS. Its an action packed weeklong event that focuses on classic cars. Tons of events set up with music, food and friends. I saw Jan & Dean a couple of years ago and they usually have other bands from that era.
I think i read somewhere that they had over 6000 classic cars registered this year. It keeps getting bigger and bigger.
Yall should think about cruising down next year in those classics. It would be great
