I have several beautiful ceramic pots that have no drainage holes. Does anyone know of a way to put holes in them without having pieces everywhere? I really want to use some of them but do need the drainage.
Ceramic Pots
I wonder if you could use masonry drill bits. I've never tried it, but if it can go through a brick, it should do fine with ceramics.
You take some modelling clay and make a dam around ehere you want the hole; fill the hole with some kind of oil... cooking oil will do. Then SLOWLY drill through the oil where you want the hole. The oil cools the drill bit and keeps it from breaking the pottery.
Way cool!
Thanks darius and smilin
