plant scout ?

I think the plant scout is really great. Can we see a sort by kind of list like in the watchdog? How many companies are signed up? Is there a running total? Does a company have to have a certain minimum rating to be included? Thanks!

Check out the "Browse Vendor Catalogs" - it works similar to the Watchdog, although vendors can't be sorted by category (there's no need to since you can search for vendors carrying a specific plant, rather than just a broad general category.

25 or so to-date; you can always do a manual count in the alphabetical listings.

Up to this point, we have kept the guest list kind of small - we started out inviting those companies that were most familiar with DG and the Watchdog, and we've had a terrific response from them. We then invited the Top Twenty companies to participate, and several of them signed up. As we get these companies' inventory lists loaded, we're broadening the scope to include other positive/neutral (or no ratings to-date) companies to participate. (Somehow I doubt too many negatively-rated companies will try to sign up, although if one is actively working to change its track record - and recent ratings reflect a change for the better - we would probably consider them for inclusion ;o)

We're actively marketing PlantScout, and we have high hopes that it will soon "sell itself" but quite frankly one of the best motivators is a loyal customer. If you don't see your favorite company listed, take a minute to write them (most of them can be reached through their GWD entry.) Tell them you'd like to see them participate so that you and other customers can find the plants, seeds or bulbs they offer. (We've had several companies contact us to initiate the signup process after a customer pointed them in our direction.)

Thanks Terry! Everything about Dave's is just so much fun. I love it!

Hey Terry, I like the new "ALL" option in plant scout. Fun to scroll down the list and see what companies are involved. Thanks!
