Ipomea alba

I am just exstatic as I just got my first bloom of this wonderfully fragrant flower that opened on my Birthday. I can't believe it. My camera won't take night pics but I got a good one just as it was openning. I hope it's still open in the morning as I will try and grab another pic then.

and many morrrre... Tombstone, you might enjoy moonflower foolery that occurred in the Vines and Climbers forum, in the Moonflower Vine Question thread dated 8/6/04. For background, the DG quote of the day was from Mark Twain aka Sam Clemens.

Also, check out the database - there's more moonflower celebration there. Thank you for another evening of moonflowers.

I got up with the sun today and was able to snap a pic of my moon flower. I am so happy that it bloomed on my b-day. The funny thing is, I don't even remember planting it. I thought that it was just another MG vine.

What a wonderful birthday gift!

This is the first year in a long time I didn't grow them. I sure do miss them in my garden.
