DG Junkies

Pocola, OK(Zone 7a)

nc, I guess what I meant was...no social life, except here on DG.....which I LOVE.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Me either! Too bad we don't live closer! I could watch your kids for you! LOL! My next door neighbors and I are trying to get a routine going where we can keep each others kids one night a week.

Keep your fingers crossed! Of course that means we get to have 2 2 year olds at once!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

OK folks! I am really going to sign off now. It's almost 1AM and I have to go see Thomas the Train (yipeee) in person tomorrow. I guess that's considered social isn't it? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA - all Thomas and no life makes Nicole a dull girl...

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Nicole, I'll go to Thomas the train and you go to my meeting. I think the two year olds at Thomas the train will be WAY more entertaining and fun than what I'm going to.

Enjoy it girlfriend, those times go away WAY too fast and then you find yourself going to meetings with stuffy old people in suits. Then you remember the fun times with the kids.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Well back from Thomas and had to come back for a bit! JoanJ, it was fun! I couldn't believe Thomas was a REAL train. I didn't know what to expect but figured it would be someone in a suit! Anyway, it was fun and now I'm tired!

Alright I have to admit it - I am a true DG Junkie through and through. Came home late Monday after a 4 day business trip, welcomed the dogs or vice versa then immediately hit DG. Had to get my fix you know. Left my husband to empty the truck, put things away and such. Is that pathetic or what? Can't go 4 days without having withdrawal symptoms.

I'm not a junkie.I'm not a junkie. I'm not a junkie. Nope that doesn't work either. When I was in the hospital the last part August, I asked my DH to check out DG and my trades for me. He thought I needed help (the kind that's not exactly medical). But he did , and reported back to me. That's real love for you, after 38 years. It's that I know more about what's going on with a lot of people here at DG, than I do about my own relatives. It is a family here, and we all care about each other. I think we have the best people on earth here at DG. I read alot more than I post, since I am Cyber-shy. But I love ya all and hope to meet many of you someday. Lou

Well spoken, Dispatcher1!!

Verona, ON

Couldn't agree with you more Lou.
When I was in the hospital twice this past spring I went bananas not being able to keep in touch with my DG family. God bless Kathy from Misty Meadows she called me in the hospital. None of my "biological" family did. That means alot and showed me how much DGers care for their fellow gardeners.

I am still very new to DG's, but I feel more at home here than I have felt anywhere ever before. I want to meet all of you... I feel that DG's is just one big family. Am I addicted? Well, let me tell you a few descriptive words of how I feel when I am at DG's reading threads and then you decide... cozy, warm, fuzzy, then rofl, then tearful, sympathetic, then intent, hopeful, empathetic... etc etc

My biggest problem is that I can't learn it all fast enough to suit me. (I am relatively new to gardening!)

I am proud to call DG's my home away from home, even while I am home!!!

Blessings to All,

Starr

I love Dave's too. You can meet the folks in person at the RUs. So much fun and everyone just loves gardening.

While on vacation, I had to check in to Dave's. I felt like I was missing something. Everyone has been really kind and helpful.

OK finally gonna post...been having fun reading this thread! BugFreak - I am right there! Can't do a thing in the garden - pinched nerve really acting up! Really a bummer to get online and read what everybody's up to when you can't be up to anything yourself!!! (hang on while I surface and take a breath, this pool of self-pity's getting deeper and deeper...) Read the "Overwhelmed" thread and almost cried to hear everyone talking about how busy they are in their gardens! Anyway I am still alive and missing all my DG friends - just can't type much and certainly no packing up trades! Put me down as a former-DG-Addict-Hope-to-Be-One-Again!

I've been on vacation for nearly 2 weeks; got home Wednesday. Was able TWO TIMES to access via a local library while we were away (for 10 minutes each time...sigh). When we got home, my mother was here until early this morning, and I was only able to get on for 10 minutes here and there (computer's in the spare bed room...). Today, I haven't logged off yet - I'M HOME!!!!! At work, I'm with ncgardenaddict - one day they'll track what I do and find out I hit DG at least a dozen times a day. But (hahaha) they can't take it away from me unless they fire me....LOL...I don't think they could though; after all they give us the "tool", how are we supposed to master it if we don't practice and practice and practice? LOL.

LOL - Sylvi74 - "I can stop any time I want to. . ." -- ME TOO!!!

It's good to see you back Delph! Howie and I decided that next year we're going to just maintain what we have in the yard, not try to do new projects, start new beds, buy more plants, etc. We start out gung-ho, but then poop out. Then, virtual gardening and visiting DG takes precedence! We need to face facts: we are low-maintenance gardeners, not the gung-ho diligent ones we'd like to be.

Jesteburg-Wiedenhof, Germany(Zone 8a)

It's frightening to hear what some people have gone through with the hurricanes, and we get a storm here and think we are in trouble.

Btw, why do these wee beasties land on you plants after the hurricane, or were they there before, and you didn't notice them?

Why should white fly land AFTER a hurricane, I would have thought that the winds would have blown them to kingdom come ?

It's great to see the spirit of you people, having lost so much but starting the garden up again.

A couple of years back, we had such torrential rain here in Hamburg, that the water came up through the gardens and washed all of the plants, bulbs etc., away, but I was egged on by my DG compatriots and re-planted, and re.built the wee garden which I have.

Great crowd aren't they :-) ... we ;-D

Proud of DG'ers

Jesteburg-Wiedenhof, Germany(Zone 8a)

Oh yes Kimberley!

Wait a mo! How do you remember those things ???? .. lol

There was nothing worse for me to stand behind my door, and see the water rising and washing the plants down the drain ... what a nightmare, but HEY!!, it's nothing to what those people in the hurricanes have experienced !! .. it was still a pain in the chookies though :-D

Thankfulmoor

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Well, I remembered your talking about the flood and posting pictures, and so finding it wasn't too hard. I just browsed through the threads you've started. Man, you've told a lot of jokes!
