First an explanation .... we raise English Bulldogs and when they get happy they show it!! Their front feet start to moving and then it just travels all the way down their body til their behinds really get in motion. Those of you going to the KYRU will see what I mean when you are introduced to Jeb, our two year old pride and joy.
I've been going through one of those times when everything that could go wrong did, but today was a day of good news!!! For weeks, I've had a headache caused from an old neck injury. and about the time I got to doin' a little better I'd do some work and re-injure it. I can't take powerful pain medicine but boy have I been buying the BC powders. Today, I took Vioxx a prescription only anti-inflammatory medicine and it relieved my neckache.
Two weeks ago our van's oil light came on and won't go off so we pulled over and called a wrecker to tow it into a repair shop. There it sat for 2 weeks waiting for them to have time to replace the oil pump which they said it had to have. Yesterday, we visited with them for the 4th time and were once again told it would be next week at least before they could get to it. We then made the decision to have it towed to another shop. This afternoon the second mechanic called to tell me it was ready and I didn't need the oil pump after all.
I had already made up my mind to rent a van to go to the KYRU on Saturday if necessary, because the DG people going seem so nice and I never, ever get to go anywhere because the Bullies can't be left alone, but now, I'm set to go.
(Keeping with the spirit of the DG website, we respectively decline to discuss placement of our "bully babies" with DG memebers. We're here to enjoy the company of other gardners.)

Bully Butt Wiggle Day!!
With this title, I just HAD to read this! Judy, I know what you mean, we raised EB when I was a child, and since they really don't have much of a tail, when they are happy they just wag the whole back end of the dog! It is adorable. One of ours used to play ball with us, like a seal, bouncing it off her nose. When she got excited she would jump in the air to meet the ball, and the back end would be wagging so much that she couldn't stand up when she got back down. It is a crying shame that so many people equate these marvelous, patient, sweet tempered dogs with pit bulls.
Careful of the Vioxx, my mom takes it for arthritis, and it can cause stomach bleeding. I understand it is banned in Great Britian because of this.
Thanks for the warning about Vioxx. I've never heard that but I always take it with food just in case. Hopefully I will only be taking it for 7-10 days.
Since I always have a waiting list for my "babies" I didn't realize people equated them with "Pits", too bad!!!
I thought for sure I would get lots of comments on the name of the thread but you are the only one. Take care and have a wonderful day!!
Judy, did you see where they pulled Vioxx worldwide from sale???
Really? I have a prescription for it, a 90-day supply on hand. It makes me feel nauseated, though, so I'm undecided about whether to tough it out and try it or not.
RIght before I sat down at the computer I took one, not having heard the news today. So here I am with this horrible neck/headache which I am sure will kill me but if I take Xioxx it might just finish me off!! lol lol
I surely wish I could read that medical report myself because the www.Foxnews.com blurp said in patients that had taken it 18 months these were the findings. The question that comes to mind then is would it be safe for temporary usage!!
It is absolutely the best for my neck, but I'll certainly stop taking it now. Thanks for the heads up!!!!

Looks like we can get a refund on our purchase price/co-pay if we send it back to Merck along with a copy of the receipt. Cool beans!
Guess I should have read all the way to the bottom before I started sending emails about the Vioxx. Makes you mad when you think you have found something that works and this happens.

Judy, I've always loved the breed you have, but I am now raising Chinese Shar-Pei. You know, the pit bull with wrinkles as some have described them. People with beautiful pointy nose Shelties wonder why we have such push-face, old before their time, wrinkly things! I'm sure you know, though. LOL
