Good luck scooter, that's a pretty one, I want one that 'points up'. I have an Aurea but it's not doing much for me, I think it's too hot here. It will go in the gh and maybe it will do better next year. LindaSC
So many cuttings on eBay...
I got mine from tctopkatz; she has a 100% positive rating on ebay
I don't think I would want one that is up-vertical.
I think it would collect too much rain & junk and affect pollination or pod set.
I have a nice 2004 seedling that has horizontal flowers .Really shows off from a distance
=)
I have a question for those that grow brugs.
I bought a brug last year at a local botanical gardens plant sale. (It has yet to bloom.) Other than thinking they are one of the most beautiful and intriging plants the Lord ever made that is the extent of my dealings with them.
How does someone such as myself go about trading for/acquiring cuttings of brugs? It appears that growing brugs becomes a passion/obsession almost to the exclusion of all other plants. So what would someone such as myself have to offer someone such as yourselves?
Ebay, at first, sounded like a good place to acquire cuttings, but after reading some of y'all's postings I'm not so sure that's a road to take....
dstartz -- welcome to the brug forum!
I was in your shoes last year -- and, I purchased a cutting collection from a vendor on eBay (ten huge cuttings, all different cultivars), and then bought more cuttings when I saw something I wanted. There were also a couple of VERY generous people here that shared cuttings with me around the first of the year. The best thing to do is monitor this forum and when someone has cuttings for SASE (and they will), get in on it that way :) Hope that's helpful! Gretchen
PS -- I didn't know there was a Botanical Garden in Alice???

I think the closest one to Alice is in Corpus Christi
Texas .I live 28 miles south of Alice .....
dstartz,
You have mail.............
Thank you, Gretchen! That is very helpful (and hopeful) information.
Sorry about being misleading about the botanitcal gardens - it's in Corpus Christi http://ccbotanicalgardens.org/. (Anything within 60-75 miles around is pretty much considered local....)
I will start monitoring the brugs forum and keep an eye out for offers. Again, thanks!
You're welcome! And, thank you for the link. If I hadn't had an outbreak of Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus on my brugs, I would share with you, but mine unfortuntately are quarantined until I know they're disease free. DH and I will have to check out the CCBG one of these days, as we spend quite a bit of time in Rockport...The best of luck with your pnew addiction!!! Gretchen
lhughes, the one I called Champagne (something or other) is actually Spring Peach. I don't know where I got the wild idea it was otherwise......
dstartz, Your package is on it's way. They are all started and ready to be put into soil so get yer stuff ready =)
which ones did you send her? I am going to send some too and don't want to duplicate....
Sun Kissed
versi Peach
Cupid's Blush
Monster White (Donna's)
Maya -variegated
Rosea
these are great as I do not have them, so she will get a nice variety from both of us.....thanks
You'll love the colors.....
Sunkissed is a very rich yellow with a dark orange rim
Rosea is such a lady with a flouncy white skirt coloring down to the dark pink edge.
Donna's Monster White is a very prolific bloomer , not too tall ( 4 or 5 ft.) but very wide with bloom laden branches that often sweep the ground. Give this one plenty of room when you plant her. A good specimen plant for the front yard.
versi Peach is wonderfull and being a versi the flowers open white and over time turn a rich peach , so the whole plant in bloom has this color range all at once
Maya , my love, has soft peach blooms but even when she is resting between flushes is still a knock out in your garden.. You will love the different color and texture of her leaves too.
Cupid's Blush , My prettiest BIG pink and one of the best fragrances.
Let's all hold hands and chant for Winter to pass quickly.
Cupid's Blush
I would love a Monster White cutting or rooting. I hesitate to get it in the fall, thinking that spring might be better. I just love the fragrant whites and Donna's can obviously handle the heat, so I think it would do nicely here. Any ideas where i might locate one?? TIA!!
Gee Scooter, my yellow Whiskers is kinda pale and I want a really rich deep yellow. Can I get a sunkissed from you?
I have a cutting that is rooted that you can have woodspirit. I've ordered boxes from USPS that should be here in a week or so. LMK if you want it.
I don't want to start an avalance, but SherryLike, if you find out about the Monster White, will you let me know? Even if it is a cutting from Ebay. I would love to have one of those as well. Thanks.
Terrie
Terrie -- you might want to contact DonnaB...I believe that brug is one of her creations, but I could be wrong... Gretchen
Thanks, Gretchen! I will do that.
Donna did not create MW , but had the foresight to grow her for a while then named this suaveolens brug that she recieved from another source w/o a name tag.

Great pic Scoot!
Brinda, you have mail.
now have i found right thread for brug . cuttings?/ interesting.. i have 2 started from seeds but babys pulled tags out guess gone.. rats..
I am not very good with seeds unless they are the size of a bean or larger. They either don't sprout or die of damp-off. So I have decided to stick with cuttings where brugs are concerned. My husband took a zillion cuttings today because we are supposed to get frost tonight. Some are from above the Y and some are from below the Y. I have promised a fewl of them but will probably offer more later on when I see what I have.....
