Darius is MIA

Has anyone talked to Darius lately...by phone or otherwise?

The torrential rains from Ivan blasted the western NC mountains, and she's pretty isolated.

I've lost her phone # due to computer glitches this summer and am worried. She's probably without power...as so many in the area are, but she may lave a land line that still works. Roads are washed out and tornadoes were in the area.

She was so supportive of all in the hurricane's paths that we need to find out if she's ok too.

If anyone has any contact, please post here, as I'm starting to worry.

She has been so good to so many who were going through the Hurricanes. I also had her cell phone # and can't find where I put it....

She told me if weather got bad she was going to leave for KY early...guess that would depend on the roads. I sure hope everythings okay and she's just without power. It is very frustrating to know that folks are worried and not have any way to contact them...I'll bet she's ''chompin' at the bit'' right now.

But I don't think that she would have left early without posting so. She had a dentist appt. the morning after her last post for that broken tooth.

I am worried too.

The news just showed a lot of damage in western NC. They said that there are still 10,000 homes still without power there.

I live near the mountains of SC and was without power for several days. She is probably fine just "powerless" to tell us.

Trading with another lady in NC. She wrote this AM, that there were still thousands in her town with out services....praying for everyone....

This situation certainly has us all concerned. I say no sense in worrying, let's do something!!!

Does someone know her address or the name of a nearby town? If so I can call the county sherifff's office and ask about her area at least. Maybe if there is a car near her location they could check on her, but they would definitely need her address to do that.

(Since I'm new to DG maybe one of you, who know her well, would rather be the one to do this???)

DARUIS JUST CALLED!!!!

She said to tell everyone she is coming to the KYRU and will arrive late Wednesday evening. Her house is O.K., but no power, water or phone. She has made it to a friend's house in Andrews NC. No shower, everything in the freezer BAD, but she promises to smell better before she gets there! (Grin) I don't know her route, but it's going to be the loooooog way around to get out of NC!

Gosh, I didn't realize so many would worry about me... it really touches me!

I'm fine, my power finally came back on last night, and after a couple days of doing kitchen clean-up. laundry, etc. I shall be as good as ever, except for my mind which has taken a beating. Things here are not pretty, but then that's what Ivan has done everywhere.

So glad you're okay and all is well - or as well as can be expected! I was praying for you. I hear you're still coming to the KY RU this coming weekend - can't wait to see you!
