Dolgo crab apples?

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

This is a mighty strange request, but does anyone have a dolgo crabapple tree that's bearing lots?

I am having flashbacks from my childhood this fall, and I remember eating the dolgo crabapples on the way to and from school. The neighbor lady had one right along the path we walked each day. I planted a small tree a couple years ago, but it's not bearing yet. I'm anxiously waiting for it though.

I would love to send someone postage for a 2 or 3 pound box of dolgo crabapples if you would be willing to pick me some and send them.

Joan, our Dolgo bears so much the branches bend :)

So sorry that your post was past season here :(

Just send a reminder to me next July and I'll gladly send you a huge box! If anyone's never seen them, the fruits are huge and almost luminescent in the sunlight :)

Thank you Dea! I'll put a sticky note on my computer screen and leave it there until next July.

I guess that they probably do ripen earlier in warmer zones. Here it's not until around the time school starts in August. This year I thought it would be even later because of the cold summer. Plus, the late freeze we had pretty much froze all the blossoms on all the fruit trees this year. :(

...and they are SOOO good!

I'll hang on to the craving until next July then. I only need enough to give me a good belly ache. Then I'll be okay until my trees get big enough to bear fruit.

Thanks Dea!

oh boy do I agree!! ;)

Hey, we can meet at the border and you can throw them across to me. That way neither one of us will be 'taking' them across. I'll try to eat them as fast as you throw them. Then I'll get my belly full before the border patrol catches on.

LOLOLOL....I love that idea! I'll throw the crabs and you can throw some impossible to find (at least here) plants my way! ;)

Sounds like a plan!
