Power came on!!! HOORAY!!! Short report: One bad leak in my apartment. Actually the water felt good on my tootsies. House structure made us proud. No water or electric since 11AM last Friday. Sweetest sound? The toilet flushing and the beep of my computer! Pets slept through the storm with no tranquelizers, the advantage of having hound dogs, they LOVE to sleep. No leaves left on trees, looks like Autumn up north. The shade plants are on their own. Boards have to stay on because of hurricane Ivan. I'm going to start looking for stores open to start re-stocking. I heard that the Publix was open with no power, but had re-stocked some staples. The lines for ice and water were running three to five miles long Tuesday, but are shorter now . We are thankful for our pool. It has provided "swimming baths" for 10 people, who REALLY needed them with closed up houses and no A/C or fans.LOL It also provided the water for flushing toilets.
I am concerned about MollyMc and Darius. I have to leave and can't read all the postings that went on during the storm, so if they could just drop a short E-mail I would appreciate it.
I just want to say that while I made it through O.K., Saint Lucie County/Fort Pierce is in serious trouble. So much that the Federal and State governments promised our County have not appeared. Now they are pulling the National Guard out to send south to start the evacuation of the Keys, which leaves us spread VERY thin for law enforcements. The curfews from 8PM to 7AM are strictly enforced.
Keep the good thoughts for me, I'm mounting up and riding out. My specific prayer request is that I can find gas to keep going until I re-stock.
Pati

Ditto what Lilypon said, Pati. :-)
Glad to hear you and your family - furry ones included - are okay.
Posted it elsewhere but will post it here too. Please, please if it doesn't downgrade and keeps on the forecasted track........GO STAY WITH DARIUS Pati before it's too late.
IT WAS NICE KNOWING YOU....
Winds greater than 155 mph and/or a storm surge greater than 18 feet above normal. Complete roof failure on many residences and buildings and complete destruction of small utility buildings can be expected. Major damage likely to lower floors of structures.
"I HOPE YOU'VE ALREADY LEFT BECAUSE, IF NOT, YOU'RE IN BAD SHAPE" (and if you choose to stay, pin a name/address tag on yourself so that your body can be identified
Glad you are safe and sound and have had a BATH pati! Good luck on the suplies and hope the lines are not too long and the peeps not too short tempered......hang on for Ivan cause here he comes. Do you have a gun????
Whatcha gonna do Weeds? shoot Ivan?
Hey Blooms....think it would work?
Well done Pati,
it's ok for me to talk, being in Germany, but please keep your head down 'cos the next hurricane is on its way.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wintermoor
Pati, what a long way from mealy bugs - I hope you stay with Darius, too. But if not, I am one of the ones with family in Miami and friends in the keys. We have no TV in the house, so your reports were our main lifeline to how people were doing down there during Frances. Thank you, but stay well and roost somewhere safer.

Pati... the spare bedroom is STILL available... you and Floridian can fight over it if you both use good common sense and evacuate, but the LR is quite comfortable, too, and lots of floor space for bedrolls. Lots of room for the furry critters, too.
How many times are you gonna defy Chance?
LOL...if I thought shooting Ivan would help I'd put a double load in my black powder! Stay safe all.
Ginger, looks like you could be next in Harm's Way... BeSafe!
My biggest worry if he does hit here is the propane tank. If it stays put then we can still cook...just no oven. The generator can keep the fridge and freezer going. Our neighbor has his wired so his pump will keep going so water should not be a problem either. I feel so bad for the folks still recovering from Frances and Charley and now here comes Ivan!
