Day time we have 20s and at night near to zero in winters and in summers round about 42s.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Is the 20 C or F? If Celsius, I would say yes they should do ok. If not, then I think that is way too cold to be so consistently low. They do not like freezing temps though many will tolerate around 32 degrees F if for short periods.

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

No temperature is in degree Celsius.

Hi Ada thanks for writing at least i have sandy soli but we had over three inches of rain last week where my wife works she had to take a alternate route since the road she travels was under water and it l.ooks like it will be repeated this week. My brugs are doung well they can absorb the water but i had a bad time with spider mites and thrip because of all the rain and who knows what hurricane Ivan will do, but we have to conside ourselves lucky look at the poor people in florida. Bob

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Thanks,Shirley and Sherry. I had two Brug seedlings totally washed out of the soil and down in the field this evening along with several other plants. I waded thru the mud to get them and lost one of my shoes in the mud. LOL I never did find the tag for one of the seedlings so I don't know what cross it is.

Bob, you're so right. Those in Florida are really in a mess. I pray that Ivan turns and doesn't hit land. The weatherman says we'll have sun tomorrow. I hope you don't get pounded with too much rain.

Kell... I got a laugh from your post...I HOPE you didn't take your husbands sheet and give it too your brugs. He was probably cold ! At least you didn't take his blanket, or did you???!!!!

At my house, my DH says....you have everything to feed your plants and the refrig. is empty! Poor spouses!!

Shirley, I love your brug! And everyone suffering from too much rain, I am really sorry. Although I can't say that I wouldn't like alittle of it!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Poor Ada! You have had such a hard time. Not fair!

Gee both Susie and tracey are letting their fans down. They better hurry up feed our brug habits!

LOL Margie, it did come out wrong! I make my poor DH go out in the cold night and cover the plants with me.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Brugie: That is a gorgeous one! I LOVE her!!!

Ada: I'm so sorry! I spoke with my Mother today (Yancey County at the base of Mt. Mitchell). They received 22 1/2 inches in a 24 hour period. Their home is on the 13th fairway of a gorgeous golf course which follows the South Toe River, and the golf course was completely washed out! There are houses on the side of the mountain that have mud-slides through them, and have lost their roads, and are absolutely trapped! Most of them are elderly, seasonal residents... I feel for all of you that have sustained damage from Frances, and pray that Ivan slows down before he hits. You are in my prayers ...Gretchen

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Thanks ,Gretchen and Kell. Parts of the mountian areas was really hit hard this week. There was flooding thru out the state. There was one elderly couple said they heard a boom and their home fell off it's support and heard another boom and their home fell in and they were washed away, hanging on to a piece of their home. It's been bad for many but those poor people in Florida have really had it terrible. I'll be glad when hurricane season is over with.

Gretchen, I hope your folks are okay and didn't have any major damage.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Thank you Ada! No -- thank the good LORD! -- They only had a small amount of water in their garage. Apparantly everyone on their side of the river was high enough up to be spared. It was the other side (the mountain) where all the damage was. This weather is just unreal! I hope you have a chance to dryout before more rain befalls you! I have a feeling we might get some of the fallout from Ivan. From what I've read, there's an 80% chance he's going to enter the Gulf. If that happens we'll make a quick trip to the coast to bring our travel trailer home...

Brugie: Sorry for the hijack................... :)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

If Ivan gets into the gulf, he could really get nasty...more so than is predicted. That warm water will do bad things. I just hope everyone stays safe and that there isn't a lot of loss of property. It has already been bad enough.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

I sure hope Ivan will be the last one. Enough is enough.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

what surprises me is the way it is blooming all up and down the plant, not just at the top. Do some of the blooms drag the ground?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

No, they didn't drag the ground, but only because the plant is in a big pot. LOL! She is an amazing bloomer.

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Brugie, every time I see her, she just keeps getting prettier, ALL those blooms, you must be in Heaven!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Julie, I probably don't look at her more than 20 times a day. LOL! No, seriously, I have enough blooms around here that I just sit on the deck and let my eyes wander. My other flowers are pretty too.

Cassopolis, MI(Zone 5a)

I can't think of anything that hasn't all ready been said!!! It is just an awsome color!!

I am so sorry it had to go through all the rough weather!!!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Wow she is fabulous Shirley. She has done well for you.

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

I just love this brug! And Vixen tooooooo! Is Tracey still having computer problems? I've missed her posts here. And she needs to get her store open soon! LOL I'm drooling over this one!

Great pics Brugie....you have 'the touch'!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Brugie, she sure is pretty! Mine has buds on it now.
Bob, I've become the Texas brug killer this year, lol, hope to have more success now that the weather has cooled off a bit and I'm finally learning how to grow in a totally foreign climate. Zone 10 is not like growing in a greenhouse like I thought it would be. I forgot about the bugs that also love the warm temps, and then there is the wind, and the high pH and the salt and did I mention the bugs?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

YOu just need to get used otthe differences! Goes ot show you though tha tno plac eis truly paradise!

Brinda, Tracey may not get her store open for awhile due to web problems. Just email her thru Dave's with your request. She has tons ready for sale.
