Volunteers needed.

I think I would like to have some volunteers that can grow some of the bulbs that I buy to make sure that I get from the grower what I ordered.

The bulbs will be supplied and shipped free of charge. All I ask is for these people to take care of them and give me some feedback as to when they flowered and if it was the correct variety.

If this is of interest, then I would like to know if your garden is sun, partial sun/shade or full shade and if deer are a nuisance.

Hi Bert! Long time, no see. lol I would love to do take part in this. Sounds like fun. I have full sun on the south side of my house, full shade on the front of my house, and partial sun/shade in the back. We're inside 285, so we have no deer at all.

Hi Bert. I would love to take part in this. I have full sun though. East side of house is shaded after 2pm. and south side is shaded after 4pm.

What bulbs are you thinking of? I am in zone 4a, so please keep that in mind.

Hi, bleek. I'll help, if I can. My yard is all sun, all the time. Our trees are still too young to provide much shade. I'm in zone 7A-extreme western NC. Let me know.

If you don't have enough takers, I am game. :) 95% full sun. One tiny shade bed. Deer don't dine here. LOL

would love to participate. my beds are mostly hot florida sun, but am working on sun/shade one in the back. thank you for this opportunity if it comes my way.

hi bleek... i'm not quite clear on how this all works... how come ur having these bulbs grown in different parts of the country (if u dont mind me asking?) and once u see if the bulbs are the right ones then what happens? does everyone send them to u then? orrrr??? also , i know some of my daffs start blooming dec 31st and the first tulips start in the very begining of feb. this would be different for colder zones wouldnt it? i know my glads bloom earlier them most of the rest of the states, i hope i am not asking too many questions...(: i wouldnt mind growen some for ya.... i have 95% full sun i do have several beds shaded by trees to where they would get full sun in the morning then come noon to 4pm would be shaded... i dont have a deer prob. but i do have gophers,... so i dont know that i would want to risk ur tulips (if thats one of the bulbs u may be buying) anyway let me know if u still have room... (:

you always come up with the best things. i would be happy to do whatever i can for you. you have been very generous to me over the years here at dave's. always running great co-ops, lending a helping word to many questions, and "The Word" even netted me a few daffodils. ;-) so whatever i can do let me know.

i have no deer problems, i have full sun, part sun, part shade, dappled shade by deciduous trees and full shade. the amount of space you need me to provide i can work around. i have 2 beds that have a larger amount of space i could give to you. one is full sun, south facing, shaded after 4 p.m. the other space is has the sun facing it from the south and east, woods to the west. so full sun from sunrise to 1-3pm, depending on which end of the bed. all other beds i can put in a few or more here and there.

Hey Bert! I would love to help. Our garden is 80% full sun. Do have a few shady spots left. Deer are not a problem.

YOOO Bert - love to help you out. I have a big bed in the sun and another huge bed in the shade. I'll try anything and since I'm not working, I can plant tomorrow!!

Well I have deer, Bert! I tell them that there are places they're not welcome to dine, so we can go either way. If you want to test them, here's the place, lol. On my many acres, I have any exposure you want, just hollar.

Bert I am in zone 7a, Ok ,Texas border. Have a 500 sq ft vegie garden in full sun that I can donate some space for your flower bulbs.

Dang! Too late. lol Bert, I wanted to let you know that the amaryllis that you gave us at the GA RU bloomed bright solid red single. It put up 2 huge stalks. :)

what is a klompendans dance? what country does is come from? do you get to dress up in really cool costumes? me, i'm a polka woman, learned as a little girl standing on my fathers feet.

well those young women certainly have athletic legs from dancing. my my i bet i would enjoy watching them & you and eco dancing. :-) perhaps you two can do a tour of the u.s.a. and dance from dger to dger's garden. :-D you can come here anytime, even if your not dancing. ;-)

I have to discuss this, ofcourse, with eco, but for starters, let's see if there is enough interest for a grand tour through the USA......we can do the dancing, but I am NOT going to work in the garden.

I can just see it! Like Johnny Appleseed we go dancing across the country planting tulips in our wake... lol

I read it Dori, and missed it also. I was contemplating about the deer thing. :) I didn't know if Bleek was wanting deer to dare eat them or didn't want any chance of them eating them.

I hope they post the outcome of this, as I'm hoping they will tell us which bulbs are deer candy and which are not.

How about forming a Troupe and start next Spring in San Antonio and go with the season winding up somewhere in Maine???? I'll provide the wooden shoes and DG'ers put us up. Wouldn't that be something??

I sure would hope these "Testers" will put there findings on this thread for people to learn from.

I have been digging some daylilies I bought this spring to move to another bed and I can't believe how big they have all gotten!!! I wonder where I purchased these from!!!!!!haha

I would love to volunteer if you still need takers I am new here and ran acoss this forum, I live in Tenn. ane my yard front and back is all sun, so I have a problem with any plants that need shade...

Bert, I used to live near Oostburg, Wisconsin, and that is sure not how the klompendansers looked there, times they are a changin'!!!!Legit

My sister lives in Oostburg and she got girls that participate in the klompen dancing and I can guarantee they would not be a lookin' like that!!
