Cannas for trade

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Well, many of you know that I have this penchant for rescuing plants. Today, my husband even helped me dig cannas since he has the day off. That is quite something, I must say. O'Reilly's Auto Parts here in OKC has had some yellow flowering cannas in front of their building and I've thought numerous times that they "needed" to be thinned out. :) I finally stopped by last week and offered to clean out the bed, replant the cannas in a nice display and thin out the plants so that they would grow and flower better. I told the manager that I would do it at no charge as long as I could keep the plants that I thinned out. He said that would be great.

We nearly filled the back of my DH's Explorer with cannas. Needless to say, I have a few to trade. I have a picture here of the flower. It is just lovely, too. The foliage is solid green. For shipping purposes, I will cut back the foliage somewhat.

I am looking for perennials and/or bulbs for zone 7.

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Hey, thanks! I'm so glad you stopped by. :)

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Ok, let me explain something to you all. I have a LOT of cannas here. Surely someone wants some of these.

Fremont, CA(Zone 9a)

Try posting this in tropicals and maybe bulbs and perenials.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 6b)

I'd love some but I have nothing for trade, since I just moved. All I have is 2 daylily "Catherine Woodbury" and 2 daylily "Grape Magic" left over from my planting this afternoon. I doubt that would be a fair trade.

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Crimson,

You have mail. :)

That's a beauty, smiln. Seems like you wouldn't have any trouble finding takers for those.

Bryson, QC(Zone 4a)

I that looks like a beauty. let me know what your looking for, I'd be interested in some. I'am in zone 4a , I'am sure we may have something in perennials that might interest you. Just a new subscriber and haven't made my list yet.

Best regards, Ingrid

Paridise, You have mail.

Proctorville, OH(Zone 5b)

Do canna's have to be dug every year in zone 6? They just moved us from 5 to 6. ;)
I have often thought theyd be great in a couple of my beds. I just don't want to dig them up.

Willits, CA(Zone 8a)

I would love some.
All I have are daffs....yellow ones.
Would you send for postage?

Danbury, NH(Zone 5b)

Hello
My favorite color is yellow....I would be interested, would postage be ok?
Thank you in advance
Linda

I would love to trade for some yellow cannas, I only have red ones. I can trade you some white gladiolas, old timey double orange daylilies, unknown irises, big yellow old timey daylilies, I have some young white crepe myrtles, young muscadine vines and I think that is all. Let me know what you think.

S OH - I'm not sure about zone 6 for sure, but I would suspect they need to be dug. If you want some, though, I'll gladly send some to you. We can trade or I can send them for postage. Let me know here or via email.

BecksterCA - Either way is fine with me. Post here or send me an email and we can work out the details. I am not picky and I could care less if the trades are "even." They're God's plants anyway, not mine.

Linda (bilyn) - Postage is fine. Send me your address, please. You will need to store them over the winter, though. They will not be hardy there. If you need more info, just holler.

Gina - Girl you are brand new. How cool is that. The white glads sound delightful. Send me an email with your address and we can go from there.

Smiln32- yes I'm new and I'm having a blast on here!

Proctorville, OH(Zone 5b)

I think I will pass, I really don't like to dig bulbs up. & I wouldn't want to waste them. But it was a cool thing you did, helping out that business. It is true so many businesses need that sort of thing.

Thanks anyways. And good trading. *S*

Would love some more cannas. Yellow is NOT a color I'm seeking, so I'd like any of the other colors you might have, if any. Please contact me about a trade -- I have iris and other perennials.

Smiln, I have an order coming in from Park's where I ordered some Dutch Iris that aren't hardy in my Zone 4b. How about a trade off for a few of those yellow cannas? LMK

Nothing but yellow at this point.

Holding for now..... I have 7 boxes to get out and I need to regroup.

Julie88 - let me get the others done first then I'll give you a holler.

No problem, Smiln...I have this thread on "watch."

~julie~

smiln- I mailed your gladiolas and daffodils today so you should be getting them soon!

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Ok, I have everyone taken care of so far. Anyone else want some of these? They're up for grabs. The only concern I have is that I'm going to the KYRU next week, so need to get everything out by early next week.

I will trade them or send them for postage.

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Provo, UT(Zone 5b)

I would like some , to trade all I would have is unnamed daylilies and regular lily bulbs. Oh.... I have seeds, lots and lots of seeds.

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Oh, you're a riot, Jerri. What about the 8,432 other plants at your house that need to go in the ground? I suppose if I let you have some of these, I'll be planting them for you too, right? :) Better tell me now where you want them planted. ha ha

Muscoda, WI(Zone 4b)

C'mon PEOPLE! If you don't speak up NOW smiln is going to twist my arm to take MORE! LOL (and then I'll be forced to put them in a trade *next* year!)

Thanks smiln...I appreciate your generousity.

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Hey, I already got you to take twice as many as you originally asked for. :) I feel like I've accomplished something.

Linda,

I'm just so sorry you have had to go through so much lately. Hopefully, you can spend some therapeutic time in your gardens and free your mind to focus on pleasant thoughts, such as the beauty of autumn and the way in which nature welcomes us to behold its glory every day.

I will send the cannas (yours and everyone else's) on Friday. I forgot I have a Master Gardeners training class tomorrow.

God bless you and comfort your heart.

Minneapolis, MN(Zone 4b)

Hi smiln32!

I have bearded iris. They are named varieties that I bought from Sutton's but I moved (with them) and the labels disappeared. Let me know if you'd like some.

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

I'm maxed out on iris, but I'd gladly let you have a bunch for postage if you're interested.

Minneapolis, MN(Zone 4b)

Would you like some King Alfred Daffodils? If not, I'd love a $3.95 box of the cannas (I think that's the 2 lb priority mail box).

Let me know.

Hello,
I am new and trying to establish my garden with other variety's of plants. I truly would love some but all I have is LOTS of Iris's mostly purple which are growing everywhere, so I need something to add to them..also Datura Innoxia seeds that are drying at the moment and several Crepe Myrle (June Marie) that I hav'nt yet dug up yet...Would you consider postage for them...
Thanks to this site I am truly learning and my mother would be so very proud I have found her passion in plants...

Ok - HOLD OFF FOR NOW on posting here for wanting cannas. I have a bunch to get boxed up and sent out by early next week. Then, I'll be preparing for the KYRU (like leaving a clean house for my DH and figuring out how to pack driftwood to take on the airplane). :~)

Danbury, NH(Zone 5b)

Hello,
Thank you for the prayers and kind words, I look forward to peace in my garden. I will remember you always, smiln32, for the yellow cannas.

Thank you,

Linda
