Elves in your garden?

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

Surely it must be elves, the bunnies have feasted on the hosta, the snails on the tomatos, and then, there's this door.....

I love that door! Is it at the base of the tree?

That's really cute!

Yes, it's at the base of an old black walnut tree that is very hard on the plants underneath. Thought this might brighten it up. Used blank plaques from Michael's and just made them up as I went along. Making two more for family, one like a mini dog house with pups peeking out the window, and one like a Hobbit hole. Starting to feel like work!

Promise you will post pictures of the one with doggies! I might want one in my yard (if I can keep the doggies from eating it). I'd like to see the hobbit hole too, come to think of it!

Here's the doggy elf door, the little goldens are from my daughter's August litter, I printed a photo and put them in the little window!

That's really cute meezersfive..... I have some black walnuts that would look good with some doors..... I think I'm going to have to steal away your idea........

Oh Meezers, how inventive. I too will be *borrowing* your idea. I have elves, fairies, sprites and one mermaid on my property. They need a door. :>0 ~Blooms

Steal away!! I saw something similar at a craft show, so we're into third generation theft.... I used a cupboard door handle for the elf door, and sprayed clear acrylic over fronts and backs for weather protection, although I think they shouldn't stay outside in our zone 5 winter...esp. the one with the photograph....I'm thinking a "fairy house" would look cute on the trunk of a tree where a branch grows out...and you could dangle fairies around or under it..... ( LOL Stop me!!) .DH made a little gravel path up to the elf door....Those Black Walnut trees are pretty lethal for most plants but the sedums I put in seem to be thriving, We'll see what they look like in their second year.

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

great idea, but i think it to late to Patten it after we all swiped it now .Lol
