Help!

In the past week or so, whenever I try to access the co-op forum, I get a message that this page is not available. The same page you get when a website is no longer available. Since I have purchased from two of the co-ops, I really feel that I need to read them. This has never happened before. I realize the views are many, one is over 6000, but I have never had this problem before. Is there something I can do so that I can access these forums. Thank you for helping me.

vic, you're saying the whole forum is unavailable? (I just logged in as you and accessed many threads in that forum without any problem.) Try accessing the forum and if you get this message again, hold down your "shift" key and use your mouse to click on the "reload" button in your browser bar. Something may have caught in a cached version, and it's "hanging up" in there.

Hi Terry, No, I'm not trying to access all forums. Just the two threads in the co-op forum that I'm buying from. I was able to get into one but still cannot access the other. I did what you told me and also shut down but still can't get into the daylily thread on the co-op forum. My concern is that I've never ever had this problem on DG before and just in the last week, I'm not able to access some of the threads if they have had a lot of views. The one co-op thread I'm trying to access and can't has over 6000 views. I'm also concerned that if there is a message for us or something, I can't see it and won't be able to respond.

The number of views shouldn't have ANYTHING to do with the speed with which it loads, or whether it will open for you (the number of posts is what makes it take longer to open.)

Can you tell us exactly what error message you're seeing? (Copy and paste it in here if you can.)

Sorry I didn't get back to you on this. We were out of town all day yesterday. This is from the thread in the co-op forum from Melissa's daylilies. Thanks, vic

This one? http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/446245/ (it opens fine for me....)

Terry, The link you gave me shows the same error as I posted aboved. It didn't work. The thread I'm referring to is in the Co-op Forum. CLOSED: Co-op with Maryotts Gardens and the thread started is Melissa_OH.

Darius, I emptied my cache...Didn't help but thanks!

vic, I checked the server logs and your computer is indeed downloading the entire thread correctly. It's all coming down correctly and your computer is refusing to show it to you.

At this point, the problem must lie in a firewall product you may be using, or (hopefully not) a virus. :( Is this the only incident of unusual behavior on your computer recently?

dave

well, here's what I know for sure which isn't much...

Norton tells me I don't have a virus

Yes, I have a firewall from Earthlink but it's the same firewall that's always been there and I've only had the above problem in the last week. Always before on DG if I look at a thread with a lot of views, it will take a while to load but it will eventually show the thread. Never has it not shown it or given me the above error.

I'm only having this problem on DG but except for plant websites I only go to two other websites on a regular basis and neither of them or the plant websites have ever given me this error.

I'm sorry to be such a pain. Maybe someone is telling me I need to quit buying plants from the co-op :-)

Vic, please hit this page and tell me if it works or not:

dave

Yes Yes Yes It worked It worked! What did you do? Am I fixed?????

No, that was just a copy of the thread placed in a different place. So it's not a problem with the content of the page, but your browser still won't be able to pull up the original thread in its right place.

I'm at a complete loss. Maybe your computer is indeed keeping you from co-ops intentionally!

dave

LOL....oh well, thank you for trying. I really DO appreciate your help... :-)
