looking for zone info

how do you determine what zone you are in, I have been to three sites and got three different answers, I am shown from a 5 to a 7

I think Indiana ranges from 5a to 6a, depending on the part of the state you live in: http://www.usna.usda.gov/Hardzone/hzm-ne1.html

I don't think anybody's gonna mistake you for zone 7. If they do, you need to invite them up your way in late January or early February, lol. (I spent a snowed-in weekend in French Lick, IN last year about that time. Definitely not zone 7!!!
