Search threads issue?

Hi Dave,
This morning I was trying to find a picture I had added in the PDB. I can't ever remember how to spell Tabebuia so I limited my search to PDB pictures. After the first page alll of my started threads appeared, not just the PDB pics. Is this some sort of glitch?
That's a lot of pages to slog through! :)

I can't replicate this problem. I clicked to search the forums:

http://davesgarden.com/forums/search.php

I entered Tabebuia and selected "PDB Pictures".

28 threads were found, and the Next button worked fine.

If I put in Tabebuia it's no problem but I couldn't remember Tabebuia so I wanted to search my pics in the PDB using this page http://davesgarden.com/forums/threads.php?user=Floridian
I limited the threads to PDB pictures and got this page http://davesgarden.com/forums/threads.php?user=Floridian&limit=pdb&submit=submit which is fine BUT when I go to page 2 the search is no longer limited to PDB pictures, all my started threads appear.
I figured what I wrote might not be clear...hope this is better

I think it's a sneaky bug that's been in the searches a long time and it only occurs when you limit by username (with or without limiting it by forum.) Let's see if I can give a step-by-step example.

If I search the forums for "PDB": http://davesgarden.com/forums/search.php?forum=&search_text=pdb&limit=0&limit_poster=&Search=Search I get 3,267 results.

If I narrow it down to the DG forum: http://davesgarden.com/forums/search.php?forum=&search_text=pdb&limit=dg&limit_poster=&Search=Search there are 396 threads, and I can click on the subsequent pages without any problem.

If I narrow it down to Baa's posts: http://davesgarden.com/forums/search.php?forum=&search_text=pdb&limit=dg&limit_poster=Baa&Search=Search there are 23 threads.

And if I click on the second page of her results, I'm back to the 396 threads found within this forum: http://davesgarden.com/forums/search.php?search_text=pdb&limit=dg&offset=20

Couldn't Floridian have simply gone to their Member Page and clicked on the images they had submitted to the PDB? Isn't that the easiest way to see your own PDB images? Would also need to check your "Pending PDB Image queue" if it was a recent submit.

Yes, but if you're looking for particular plant, and you've submitted a lot of images (like Floridian has), it's faster to search by name than by browsing through page after page of images...

The only problem with checking your own list of PDB images from the member page is that they are listed chronologically from most recent to the first image submitted. If you are stuck on a name, can see the image in your head, can't remember the name.......it is easier to run out to the garden to look at the tag, because you can't sort the images by name (or at least I haven't figured out a way to do that).

Langbr, I did do the search from my member page but the search wonldn't stay limited to PDB pictures. Since I have hundreds of pictures in there searching through all my threads was a big job. It all works perfectly now!

Gosh were we all posting at once?? LOL

Ahhh.....hadn't noticed the "Uber" logo. Duh! Just call me the "observant one"! I'd love to be able to sort my PDB image submissions by Name or Cultivar. Dave?
