Buying a membership as a gift??

If I wanted to buy a membership for a friend is there a way to do it???? I did not see it on the subscription page!

Yep - when you start the subscription process, choose "add a year to your subscription" and the second page will let you change usernames to the person you wish to buy a subscription for.

But this does bring up a really good point: Dave, can a fourth link on that first page be added - something like "Click here to purchase a gift subscription for another registered member"?

If you wish to do a "gift subscription" for a specific member, you can always do that on your own - simply go to the subscription page, make sure you choose the CORRECT username you wish to bestow your kind gift upon, and pay for their subscription. Unless Dave has changed it, you can do it anonymously, or let them know you did it (kind of like paying for a magazine subscription for someone else.)

Hey, if you guys want to make sure that they Garden Angel money you send is meant for a specific person, you need to indicate so when you send the money!.

If you don't indicate who it is for, then it goes into the general GA fund and will be drawn from whenever there is a need.

One more question, do I have to pick her out a name when I pay? Or can she change her name once she gets here????? Sorry to be a pain in the butt.

She must be signed up first. Don't pay for a subscription for a non-signed up user, or worse, someone else might already have that name and you'd be buying for a stranger!

ok, how about electronic DG gift certificates? Is such a thing possible?

What I envision is a link to buy a gift certificate. you would click the link, pay the fee, but instead of credit-ing to a username, an email is generated that goes to the recipient, that contains a unique code assigned to that gift (perhaps with a unique url for them to click on). Then they can come here, create their own user name and pay for their subscription with the gift certificate.

How cool would that be?

Oooh, gift certificates would be neat.

Of course, PayPal users could always send $15 to a person, with a note explaining that it's for a Dave's Garden subscription, and include a link to the registration page. You can purchase a subscription here with PayPal, so the recipient would be all set.
