Is it a Rule...?

Is it a Rule that women on the Weather Channel have to be pregnant? Seems everytime I look, there's a pregnant woman giving the weather forecasts, LOL.

(Actually I think it's wonderful that they are allowed to work on the air while pregnant.)

LOL - I can't tell you the times I've thought that very thing......Either there's something in the water there or maybe it's like a "Stepford Wives" thing going on at the Weather Channel......

I think it is, Darius. One year, they had a pregnant lady that got so large - - I was convinced that she had to carrying triplets. She would have to step back so that the map could be seen - - and all you could see of her was her huge belly and arms.

It's something in the water (there has been an awful lot of rain lately). Maybe they only hire really fertile women?

I live about 10-15 minutes away from The Weather Channel headquarters. When I was pregnant with my last, born March 21, 2003, I was in the OB's office and struck up a conversation with the woman having twins next to me. (I've never met a stranger) (Edited to say, no she wasn't having the twins right next to me, she was sitting next to me pregnant with twins! much better!) Turns out she was an on air personality for The Weather Channel. I spoke with my friend who works at the weather channel about her being there and she (my friend) told me that the pregnant woman was getting loads of fan mail!! with folks asking her all about her pregnancy and how she was doing. She said that people really get attached to the weather people they see every day and feel that personal connection! :)

But you just talk about the weather, you don't forecast it! ;) If you were on TV, you'd be the Queen Mailbag, Chele.

Boy, 'Chele would really get the fan mail, wouldn't she? Over and over and over. LOL!!!

They have this dumb commercial for the Bangor weather guy that shows lots of people waving "Hi,Steve". So when I saw him walking out of the credit union while I was walking in, I couldn't resist. Hi Steve! He got me back though. He just smiled and said, Hi Frank! (My name is on my work shirts)

Lots of little meteorologists being produced, huh? Have you noticed that they all seem to get really big about now? Guess they know how to keep warm when it gets cold....lol! ;-)

If not in the water, it's in the air. Jeanette
