Sleep Number Bed?

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

Just curious about these beds. Does anyone have one? Are they $$$?

Ashton, IL(Zone 5a)

Yes, they are $$$$. I priced the middle of the road full sized one and it was $1600 for mattress & "box springs" base. Tried a couple out at the mall. Comfy, but, remember waterbeds? Everyone said how comfy they were, how kind to the back they were. Well, that fad blew over and I wonder if this one will too. A coworker has one and I'll just ask her in 5 years if they still like it.

DH wants one. I want more flowers!

ponditis has one and loves it
we're also having a discussion about the tempurpedic on another thread.....shoe has one and loves that

Santa Clara, CA(Zone 9a)

We have had one for about 3 years and love it. It is very comfortable, especially since my DH likes a lot harder bed then I do.

The only downfall is the dog usually starts on my DH's side and ends up rolling down to mine.

We have had unusually warm/hot weather for a month now, Pacific Northwest, and I have set up our heavy duty Coleman air mattress in the living room w/ the window air cond. I really really like sleeping on this mattress and think I would like a sleep number but until the mortgage company agrees that I need one more then they need a monthly payment. . .

We love ours after almost 15 years with it. Their warrenty is wonderful and the service has been great the only time we ever had a problem with it. My side had sprung a leak and they overnighted me a new mattress AND a new pillowtop because I told them I had tried to wash my dogs illness out of it and the thing had shrunk. NO CHARGE.

We love the bed and have never regretted spending the bucks for a great nights sleep. We had a water bed and that hurt my back and was very hard to get out of too. This bed is very comfortable no matter what position I sleep in. Love it.

I didn't realize they had been around for so many years. Wish I had the money to try one out!

I have one and it wasn't worth it, was $2500 and it's a little more than a yr. now and hubby wants to buy another bed, what a waste! Denise

Marietta, GA(Zone 7b)

Hmm? Why was it a waste? What was wrong with it?

My mom has one and loves it 10years now. The side walls were getting old and would cause wrikles in her sheets she has a disorder where even little wrinkles hurt so she called and next day they shipped her the new outside frame no cost was still under warrenty. Now it is good as new. They have several models some are much more then others. She also does not use the boxspring we built her a murphy bed frame a few years back and just puts the mattress on the board.
Sandy
P.S. before the murphy bed she just used her regular boxsprings from her old bed.

Kathy_T, the mental image of your dog rolling down onto your side of the bed had me in stitches.

Santa Clara, CA(Zone 9a)

Well he does kind of think he owns the bed, house, trailer, etc.

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

We have one, it is the first bed I have ever slept on where I wake up without a back ache. We had a waterbed before that. The company will let you try one for 90 days free according to Paul Harvey on the radio.

Bensenville, IL(Zone 5a)

Sorry it's taken so long to get back to why it was a waste for us. As someone was referring to the outer walls of the bed are foam and unfortunately for us they've needed replacing quite often, granted the co. is very good about shipping out the foam. We've also found the bed has to be adjusted continueously, it's also a bed for 2, occassionally my husband has to go out of town and sleeping in the bed w/one person definitely makes a difference although you can adjust your side of the bed. I'm still having my back problems too which are one of the reasons we bought the bed. You know sometimes what doesn't work for one can work for someone else! Denise
