Forum for Bugs/Insects?

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

Hi there, just wondering if we already have something like this and if so, am I missing it, I have noticed alot of people put up snapshots of bugs, the damage they do, etc. For some of the newer people and even us older gardeners who encounter a new "bug" or worm, etc., if there is a place to peek thru threads to possibly find out what is eating my Brug, or why are the leaves all gone now? etc.(not just Brugs, just in general) Wondering if there is a forum to do searches for this? Not sure if I am making any sense! LOL Thanks anyway

Thanks Dave, I knew there must be one, but didn't find it :)

I'm currently doing personal crash courses on entomology via books and the web to come up with proposals for the "Critters" DB layout (My heads gonna blow soon).
The insect world is rather complex and variable which makes it difficult for me to come up with a page that contains sufficient information to cover the whole spectrum without being too difficult to view/read. Dave most likely will wish that I go brain dead LOL.
Volunteers to help are welcome :)

Are you hoping to propose an insect database in likeness to the pdb? I've been looking for one of those online and it doesn't exist! Maybe because its such a frightful undertaking... I think that would be amazing if we could do that!! But I know Dave's burners are quite full right now. How can I help Milan?

How'd you do that! lol! I looked for a looong time several different times. Guess not in the right places. Thank you!!

I just use the 'Search' function in my MS Internet Explorer. It is more straightforward than Google and all the rest.

Those are some good ones Ulrich! I bookmarked some. Here is another one I like. Don't know if it helps you Milan.

True, information on bugs can be found on the net but I guess what we are looking for is a one stop "shop" at DG where a Gardner can see possible pests of their plants in PDB, help identify Friend/Foe,...etc. (usw., blablabla :)
Setting up the Critters DB to specification should be easy enough for Dave if it's kept in general form of the PDB but the relational part to the PDB and Search functions will be the bigger challenge which BTW can be applied to an later date.
It might be a big flop, but one never knows until tried :)
Nice would be somebody artistic out there that can make pencil drawings of different forms of larvae and damage caused by the insects and/or larvae/nymph for ID purpose.
Also any ideas on the DB structure and content are appreciated (E-Mail).
