Automatically watch our own threads?

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Hi, Dave - Would it be possible for us to be able to automatically watch any threads we start? DaisyAvenue mentioned this in another forum here and I agree, it would be handy. In particular, she mentioned Plants Database photo submissions. Unless the submitter goes back and watches the threads of all the photos s/he has submitted, comments might be missed and questions never answered. What do you think?

I've been giving this some thought since it was first brought up the other day, and I think it's a pretty good idea. Most likely I'll be implementing this.

I agree the general idea has some merit, and keep in mind that when you submit an image to the PDB, you are automatically set up to watch the accompanying thread ;o)

As long as you can "Unwatch" there's no harm done and it will benefit more people than not as I suspect most folks to "watch" their own started threads.

That's what I was thinking, too -- it would be easier to unwatch the threads we don't wish to continue seeing. I didn't know that about the PDB, Terry - cool.

I'd love to see any new thread I start be automatically put on my watch list. That way, I wouldn't inadvertantly miss a response. :)

So would I! I sometimes forget to put a thread I've started on my watch list. :(

Exactly, Lilypon! I've done it more than once. :)

This feature is complete. From here out, any thread that you START will automatically be added to your thread watcher.

Well, ain't you special, Dave! I just posted a new thread to the weather forum, and noticed that all I could do was unwatch it. I was real puzzled until I came across this. Nice feature!

How about that! A problem I didn't even know I had. I just checked the "threads frogsrus has started" every day. Well, I guess I had better start retraining the ole dog. Lol.

I just noticed that today. Good idea.... but now I keep looking up there for the "watch thread" option. The site keeps getting better and better!

Dave, I just wanted to say a great big THANK YOU for adding this feature. It makes it sooooo much easier to check onmy threads without having to open a gazillion (okay exaggeration) windows to find them all. If there's something new, I see it right away. If not, I can happily browse my favorite forums for news from other people without worrying I'm missing a question or comment on my own threads. Great idea! I LOVE it!

By George what a great idea! I just did one and wondered why I didn't have to click on "Watch".

Now I know, thanks Dave.
