Firstly, I would like to wish gumlla a "happy independence day" on 14th. Pakistan celebrates on 14th. On 15th, it is our independence day. http://www.123independenceday.com/indian/independence/day/ Things will be colourful here, all offices decorate with the national flag. India and Pakistan were partitioned in 1947. There will be a grand procession in the capital, New Delhi. http://www.rumela.com/events/india_independence_anthem.htm This is another interesting site I found.

Dinu and gumlla, you 2 make me believe that there really could be world peace if folks can be so nice to others who live in countries that were once the same country and have had friction between them. I belong to a group called Teach Tolerance and the name says it all.

We talk about Holy Scriptures and what not... what is the essence of it? You said it! They all teach Tolerance. It has such a deep meaning that on the way, people seemed to have forgotten. That perhaps is the cause for so much friction -- uncalled for and unnecessary -- between any two nations. If they realized that, the whole attitude of people at the helm would have been entirely different. And the result would have been "peace"! Now having lost it, people are 'searching' for it. What a ridicule! Do you agree?
