That is a cool portrait. What a neat thing to have of all of them together. And good on ya for supporting a local artist!

It is all looking simply beautiful, Molly. I know you are so proud of it. Looks like it has everything you could possibly want and is a good size for a working woman to clean and keep up. Don't work your sister too hard. I want you two in good shape so you will be sure to make it to the KYRU.

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Elena,

My sister could only make one trip this month and she wanted to see my house and help me with the move, so she won't be making the RU. I wish she could too. But it will be great to see her.

So Dixie Chick is coming along with me. We'll have great fun.

:^)

OK, my mistake. I was thinking that Dixiechick was your sister. I need to start studying the threads more carefully, obviously ...but will I remember any better? Probably not!!! LOL!

Been working really hard this past 2 weeks. Got moved with the help of some of my family, survived Frances and waiting on Ivan.

In the meantime, got that garden moved over here and almost all the beds are in.

First one: Hostas, Heucheras and small fussy ferns. My zone 9 garden, I call it.

Next: Cannas, swamp and daylilies. The building on the left is the exercise/all purpose separate room. On the right is the patio and house.

Boy, you are really making progress and fast! Looks great, what are you gonna do next?

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Over here is outside the Florida room. I put in the Ground and Nun's Orchids to help lend a bit of shade for the herb garden. All I have right now is the rosemary and an ornamental pepper plant. Need to made a trip to HD for more herbs.

Here's the daylilies I lost the tags on, they are untagged but not unnamed. These are in the front planter. I threw in a couple walking Iris and 2 perennials. Not sure yet where I will put the container roses. Maybe along the front walk.

You have truly been blessed by your family and friends showing you how much they care. See you at the KYRU

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

This one is along the front porch (hurricane shutters still down for Ivan) This is a dual purpose bed. Succulents in the driest end (when the shutters are back up in place) and some perennials in the other end.

These two survived Frances at the old house and are in bloom. I wasn't going to move them because I have 2 more seedlings, but I saw the people at the old house abusing them by throwing yard waste on them, I had to save them. So here they are, Jatrophas.

I still have to put the shade garden in the back corner, but I have to watch where the sun goes all day. After those mango branches came down, there is less shade. I also have to put in the trellis and bird bath area. Will work on that this weekend. I'll tell ya what, the backs of my legs are so sore, digging, bending, pulling. It's a good workout fer sure.

Thanks for letting me share.

u done good girl! :)

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

You are doing a great job, my friend. I am amazed that you have been able to accomplish so much and survive two hurricanes also. No telling what you would have gotten done in good weather! I am glad you rescued the two jatrophas. If they didn't appreciate them they would have let them die.

Tallahassee, FL(Zone 8b)

You have done so much, MollyMc! Your garden already looks great, and will be quite a showplace very soon!

Hoping you are still stopping for a visit on your way to KYRU, that is, if any of us are still here after Ivan! Be safe!

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Got a good start on the shade garden last night. Worked until after dark (way too hot to be doing that stuff in the middle of the day) til the skeeters ran me off.

Wanted to show a picture of the free standing building in my back yard. Rember I told you it had electric and a/c? I painted the walls and the floor. The floor was just plywood. Base coat light green, rag painted sage and put a clear coat on for a light shine and foot protection.

The landlord gave me a workout bench (weights and stuff), that will go on that green rug. I'll get help tomorrow carrying it out from the patio. They left a stereo in there for me so I am all set up to work out, send trades or whatever I choose.

Here's the other end of the room with the work bench.

I want to thank everyone for all your kind words and emotional support. It has meant so much to me through all of this. This chapter of my life will close this week and I can close that door shake it off and move on.

I luv you all.

What a wonderful place to workout or whatever it is you might want to do there. You will love it. I have to stand outside and pot my plants and fix trades.etc. I wouldn't know how to act to have an airconditioned place to do that. Good for you, Girl. Enjoy it cause you deserve it.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

WOW! You had literally dug right in and made yourself at home! I looked at these pictures and was stunned to see all you have accomplished in such a short time. I hope your new landlord appreciates all your efforts.

Panhandle, FL(Zone 8a)

Wow, and you are neat as a pin! I love it....

TUCSON, AZ(Zone 9a)

Hey Molly, What a wonderful looking place!!! You are good !! A lot more done then if it was me.LOL You are going to do so good there.Keep us posted on how things are growing. Mary :)))))

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

Hi MollyMc. Boy, was I glad to see you post. But I must say I never expected to see such beautiful pictures. Remember the movie, "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" ? Well, I think your title now should be "The Unsinkable MollyMc"! *grin*

My electric is still "iffey", on and off. My poor plants were put between the neighbors board fence and my two sheds. The fence blew over on them, but it hit the back of the sheds before it crushed them. I can't get to them to get them out yet, but I will squirt the hose under there and hope for the best. I brought my favorites into the shower and bathroom, and some in the bedroom. I have one planter box I got to that I had been sticking different Coleus cuttings into to root, so I have a start there.

Keep posting, I'm loving your progress!

Molly - your new home is so pretty now that you planted, painted & moved your things in... it is amazing to see how much a difference your beautiful plants have made to the yard... it was naked before! By the way, before I became ill I was an avid weight lifter & body builder. When you work with weights, you are always counting the breaths and repititions. Isn't that what they tell us all to do with stress, to count? I never felt so good when I was working out. It also helped that I could do so many more things without asking for help, like lifting a piece of furniture or moving something. Start real slow, work up to speed & enjoy it!

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

I'd advise you to move them. People almost always (from my experience) dig up the old people's gardens and throw the plant out. All those years... If I had known, I would have had all the fruit trees, lilacs and other things dug up from my old house.

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Molly, looking at the exercise and energy you put out gardenin, painting, moving, digging some fair sized whole and borders... I'm darned if I can see what for you need an exercise BENCH ?

Terrific, absolutely terrific job.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

What a neat place! Wow. I love the dark blue bathroom.

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Sorry, I forgot to post pic of the final touch, the shade garden. I have many more things to add from the KY RU. I will be doing that today.

Oh Molly, what a wonderful looking place!! You have done such a great job. It looks like that place was made for you. How was the R U ? Binky :))))))

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

Beautiful job, Molly. What a great opportunity to start all over and create such a beautiful place.

I will give you my answer for "how was the roundup?" It was PERFECT and you should hear that Molly sing. I think I want to go on the road with her as her manager!!!! Maybe we could find plants along the way to tour dates and visit DGers too, huh?

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Thanks Binky and Elena.

Yep Elena, I could sing for plants, a couple anyway.

The round up was wonderful. I felt right at home and so welcome. I will certainly come again next year and probly catch every one close enough in between that time.

Elena, thanks for encouraging me to do that. It was just what I needed to clear my head for a fresh start.

Now, if it would just cool down a little bit outside I can get out there and get those plants in the ground.

Molly, I just loved you! You are a VERY special person. I am lifting things from my garden to overwinter and some of them are going to have your name on them.

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

TLC,

You are the special one. You spent so much time of the round up doing for others, you barely had time for yourself. I hope you allowed yourself some rest time when you got home.

And that breakfast was to die for. You are a wonderful cook.

Molly

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

I am going to do that breakfast again next year, God willin' and the creek don't rise. That was a time when I DID get to chat with a few people.

South Point, OH(Zone 6a)

Molly, it was great to meet you and hear you sing. Now I am so impressed with your work as a gardener and as a painter also.

I loved trading plants with you, it was very handy that we were neighbors, I am looking forward to seeing you again at the next KYRU.

Happy Birthday.

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Esther, thank you so much. You were so generous with your plants and yes it was great having you and Bob as neighbors. So close to trade with heehee, I was a real plant piggie.

I do so look forward to seeing you again too.

:^))))
Molly

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

Molly, I was thrilled to "twist you arm" and get you singing again. You are reallly good and need to be doing more of that in the future. I know that we will definitely have you on the line up for next year.
Love you, girl.
