Naming hybrid plants

Does anyone know of an online source and/or book for the procedure in naming a new plant hybrid? I have a couple of Hibiscus hybrids I crossed this year and want to know if these have been done already and if not how can I go about giving them a name.

Hmmm...good question, Ray.

Although you're talking hibiscus and not Brug-talk I bet you can find an answer in the Brugmansia Forum...there are quite a few hybridizers over there.

I'd like to know the answer, too.

I think this is the correct place to register a new Hibiscus: http://www.geocities.com/auhibsoc/ira/about.htm

You can browse/search the PDB for nearly all Hibiscus cultivar names: http://davesgarden.com/pdb/finder/index.php?sname=Hibiscus&submit=submit in case you have some names you want to check out before registering it ;o)
