Soccer equipment

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Any chance anyone here outgrew their soccer equipment or has kids that did? I have three playing this year and could use some gently used shin guards and women's size 8.5 cleats.

let me see if Jessie still has her shin gaurds and what size her shoes are.

Thanks! I know a lot of kids only play a season or outgrow stuff SO fast. One of my kids needed a shoe for a mother's day present. I questioned the teacher and she said not to worry and we'd get the shoe back. Well my daughter took her favorite shoe-$35 pair of soccer cleats. We got it back alright. The teacher drilled holes in the bottom and the sides, filled it with dirt, planted annual seeds in it and gave it back weeks later. ARGH! Memorable mom's day though. LOL

Hey, Chele - check out http://freecycle.org

There's a Cincinnati Freecycle group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Cincinnati_Freecycle/

Oh Shoot. Before the move, I donated several pairs to the YMCA. Reffing the game for 20+, I bet I see a dozen pairs get left behind after every tournament.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I did Kimberley! I don't know if I am doing something wrong or if something is set up wrong. I never get an answer. LOL

Women's size 8.5? Good grief. I only wear a size 6, maybe 6.5! What are you feeding those girsl, 'chele???? (I don't think they'd willingly drink the alfalfa tea although that might make 'em grow extra-fast!)

Chele, check the archive at the groups page and see if your request posted. Be sure you put the item(s) wanted in the subject line so people just skimming through them won't overlook your request.

I wear 8.5 shoes but it have to be narrow shoes! Sorry, I am not soccer MOM! :o)

Believe it or not, Morganne wears that already! She is almost 5 feet tall at ten years old. I need to get them into basketball. LOL The others are still perfectly stair stepped behind her. The baby is up to 18.5 pounds now. :(

I wore a 7.5-8 before I had kids and my feet have gone up almost a 1/2 a size per kid. How sad am I??? LOL

Valrico, FL(Zone 9b)

That's not so bad, unless you have 12 kids.

LOL! I was going to come back and say "give her time", but you beat me to it, Terry! Gee, wonder when we can buy their Suburban...We already bought their conversion van when baby #6 necessitated their getting a bigger vehicle!

Badseed.. Are u serious.. ur baby 's 18.5 pounds now? My Matt 's 17 pounds. She must be eating alot! I noticed that he's started picking about foods what he likes or not. OFC he's still breastfed!

I am so glad to know ur DH is doing better daily..

Valrico, FL(Zone 9b)

Whew. Glad I went with the number 12 instead of 6 or 7.

5 more and you can field a whole team.

OT, but I refereed a High School girls varsity game last year that had 3 sisters on it, and found out the coach had already had their 3 oldest sisters on his team in prior years, and still had 2 more coming up. In total, he will have coached the girls in this family for about 13 years by the time the last one graduates. Every one of them were phenomenal, too. He wished they were cloaser in age to have all of them on the same team.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

I always be the same wear 8 1/2 before kids and after so glad not getting bigger foot. LOL

Eight girls. Oh my. I can't even begin to imagine! (Two boys, followed by one girl here - and I definitely have my hands full with just ONE female-gender child who's now approaching pre-puberty at lightning speed....)

Back on topic (kinda) mine's a soccer player, too (actually she's a sports dilettante - soccer, swim team, softball, golf, basketball....the list goes on and on.) As an almost-9 year old, she wears a dainty size 3.5. I'm guesstimating that one more year and she'll be wearing my shoes...

Chele I share your pain!!! Zeth and Maison are both playing and I coach Zeth's team. It cost me a fortune to outfit these little guys plus the coaching necessities. Not to mention having practice on the same day 30 min apart and games on the same night some at the very same time. Can we all say CONFUSION REIGNS!!

Michelle, do you not go to yard sales? Just about every week you see soccer shoes for no more that a dollar a pair. As you say, the kids grow out of them so fast. I buy them for my grandsons and if they are too big I know they can use them eventually. If I should see any size 8.5 I'll grab them for you.

Edgewater, MD(Zone 7a)

Chele, Im sorry, brain is not working, I checked with DD and she already gave away the shin gaurds, and the shoes she wants to keep because she swears shes going to start playing again, I think they are a size 7.5 anyway.
So sorry!
Does the soccer league know of anyone not playing anymore that might be interested in selling thiers?

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Thanks a bunch to all of you checking for me! We had to bite the bullet and buy a pair today. I could have gotten a second pair of shoes 1/2 off but the kids were in RARE (to put it nicely) form so I was not able to try anything on. Sigh....They all just got 2-3 pairs each a week or so ago.

Foley, AL

you know that is so sweet I danced up to last year and I gave all my dances shoes to a friend of mine in TN. all but my a pair of my lyrical.... she got a deal there was about 10 all together. It was nice to get rid of them. her 13 year old could wear my shoes...LOL but ever since then we send each other plants in the mail.... It caused more work than anything...but now I am getting fat,,,, well was "slim fast" diet works now! mixed with pallities and jogging 3 miles every day. besides that I quit smoking too...LOL so I might not be pretty but my garden is....LOL
