MsCritterkeepers Birthday Update....

The Heart of Texas, TX(Zone 8b)

I hope this will be seen by all my DG friends that wished me well on my special day...
First,
I would like to thank all of the wonderful people who sent me Birthday wishes from Dave’s or posted them on a thread here...
You will never know how deeply it touched my heart and made me feel very special. My small family was amazed that people I had never met in person would care enough to send their warm wishes.

Secondly, I was so pleased and touched that the African Violet forum became a reality ...on my birthday, no less. I really didn't think the forum would make it because we are such a small group, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found all the new threads posted on my return.

Lastly, I wanted to share a part of my birthday with all of those folks who know me here, so...

My darling beloved husband and 2 adult children took me to dinner on Sunday.
It was a nice meal and we were to return home to have the cake and open presents. lol
They surprised me by taking a small detour to a nice hotel SUITE that was decorated with my cake, balloons and vases flowers. Not just a vase or two BUT 7 large vases filled with roses and wild flowers!!
It was a wonderful surprise and the evening was so nice. I got to relax in peace and quiet with my husband.
I did miss Capt Jack our African Gray and the rest of the ZooCrew singing Happy Birthday to me though…lol

My daughter (who knows me best) gave me 4 bags of potting soil she purchased her self and she dragged into the garden. My son gave me a beautiful crystal vase for the flowers I grow... my darling husband gave me the one you see in the pics below... it is the Cadillac of bicycles and now we can enjoy an evening ride together.:) I was so excited..now I gotta learn how to ride it..lol
The next pic is of our small family...

Again, I hope you enjoy this thread, the pics, and the story
I thank you each for you computer friendships because friendships can not be bought, borrowed or stolen…
they are a gift of the heart.

Blessings to all,
MsCritterkeeper/Lottie Jean

Lottie Jean:

I'm so happy that you had such a wonderful birthday. You were surrounded by all of the people that you love and that love you in return. You have a beautiful family and your family is your greatest blessing/gift. May God bless all of you always.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Lottie, great looking family. You'll love the bike. I ride mine about six miles each night that it isn't raining here. You'll get to appreciate the downhills. LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You look way too young to have 2 adult children. They are so good looking, you all are! Glad you had such fun.

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

WELL,(tapping toe, hands on hips) you NEVER said you were pretty and had great legs!!! I make it a point not to have friends so much prettier and younger than me....but...for you I'll make an exception. *grin* Besides, I would just hate to miss out on all the stories, information and just plain fun of the ZooCrew!!! What a great birthday your family gave you!
Pati

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Nice bike and great looking family.

The Heart of Texas, TX(Zone 8b)

You are all tooo kind!...LOL...you did notice there were NO close up shots...I'm older than the pics tell , My son is 25 and my daughter is 23! I'm an old soul in a slightly used body..:>)

Kell& Pati ,You are too kind, The Zoo Crew & I love ya for listening to our stories! Don't worry if birthdays don't show my age then a couple of rides on that bike and falling off will fix the "pretty" part...
stand by with the band aids please

Ahelms...Down hill? There are no hills ... the closest we come to a hill is a highway over pass thank god!
I'd probable have a heart attack otherwise! Any hints are greatly appreciated...I have no sense of balance left...

The family IS great and they put up with me and my ZooCrew so I'm keepin em!
I'll keep ya posted on the bike adventures..that ought to provide a laugh for all of us...
Oh yeah the basket is for one of the critters to go riding with me...LOL

Thanks Badseed...My family is a great one and they made it lovely day. The bike ...well I'm getting the hang of it, but when it cools off below 106 I think I will enjoy it a lot more..lol

Adrian, MI(Zone 5b)

I'm so glad you had a day! You have a lovely family! Aren't daughters great!! They always know us best! Ha,I love that she gave you potting soil. It's almost as good as a load of manure!Ha Ha!

You just need to mount a big fan on the front. :)

The Heart of Texas, TX(Zone 8b)

LOL...Now that's an idea worth looking into..:)
Uh Oh dinner time...

Northport, ME(Zone 5b)

Cool Bike. Maybe some fringe off the grips. Ride with a baseball card and 2 clothespins to annoy the neighbors. I miss my green Raleigh 3 spd. Parents gave it away when I went to college. I know they might feel dumb to wear but please wear a helmet. Most bike injuries involve the head. We want you around for awhile. Frank

Thanks Frank!.I love her...it doesn't show in the pick but she's white pearl with red roses.
I'll get the helmet to go with the fan (Badseed recommended), especially with my very rusty riding skills & lack of balance.lol
No fringe, but the cards might be nice, I remember what they are for, too.(Told ya my age huh?)

Seriously..I worked In the ICU at a large local Hospital and saw many head injuries while I was there...not an experience I want to have. Thanks for the reminder!
