Last nights storms!

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

They only lasted a few mintues-but what alot of damage!
60mph winds or more-uprooted n snapped in half HUGE sunflowers and i had a morning glory growing up a old sunglass rack-tipped it over and pulled them out by the roots-they were just about to bloom-i stuck them back in the ground but whoo knows!!!

hollyhocks are down too!!! whaaaaaaaaaan every year its something. Iwas watching the wind blowing and the rain pouring and saying NO NO NO and dh said what????

I said "If you were a gardener youd know WHAT"
My smoke bush(BIG) was laying on the ground sizeways during the storm-its ok but come on...alll my toils all yr to get smashed by the winds----discouraging!!!

They had to close US-10 cuz the telephone pole got hit by lightening wires were hanging down on the highway-2 miles from my house!!!

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

we did need the rain though ;)

Oh - I know how you feel. We came home from vacation to find that a storm two days before had ripped the center out of our tulip poplar. I cried when I saw it. Plants are precious things and I just hate it when I lose one to weather or anything. I feel for you ((((((NM)))))

Hey Dori I thought about you last night when they flashed across that us-10 had closed. My oriental lillies took a beating but that is all I noticed so far. Sorry to hear bout your sunflower/mg combination that was something I wanted to try next year. Take care ..

I know exactly how you feel. We all plant our things and have mental visions of what they will look like in fruit and flower. We had so much rain that all my stuff is fighting each other for space. At least your home was spared. Take care.
