Great news!! Wheeeeeeeeeee!

Woodstock, GA(Zone 7b)

I do need a few more lilies.. Is there is any chance of including the stardust collection? I am interested in anything that we didnt get with the last co-op.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Are you guys trying to cause a divorce here??? It's bad enough that I order daylilies & iris from February to September--and now I NEED more lilies!
I guess I could feed Dh macroni and cheese for a while. this IS for my mental health, right? Even the PTA knows I'm addicted to gardening...

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL! When I'm on the computer, my husband is usually sitting next to me on the sofa watching TV. He says are you "gardening nerds talking again?" At least he is past getting mad at me and now just things I'm a crazy gardening nerd!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Oooo, he better watch it! Does 'revenge of the nerds' ring a bell??

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Moby, you ARE a troublemaker, aren't you? LOL

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Yeeessssss..........

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Gosh, Wanda you give him cheese on that macaroni?? You got lots of coop money left then! I just cook once a week a whole bunch and give mine leftovers all week! waa haa haa

Terrie - I hear ya on the DH getting way past the money. Mine just keeps saying, "How long are you gonna keep these plants in pots? (water?) (bags?)" Take your pick. Heck my deck looks like a garden nursery with all the stuff I have still in the original packaging! I figure I've got til Christmas to get it all taken care of. NOT!

I just heard from the Lily Garden and they said the easiest thing might be to offer a discount across the board on everything in their Fall catalog. What they offered was far less than we got on the Spring coop. So I'm kind of uncertain whether to proceed at this point. I have emailed them back saying I don't think their pricing is attractive enough to this particular group of buyers and is in fact below the Spring prices, considerably. Maybe they had some excess stuff this past Spring and we got a really good deal. Maybe they haven't looked at their notes from the Spring coop before they extended this pricing. I'll see what they come back to me with in their reply which I don't expect until Monday evening as their office people usually only work M-F.

They said they should have their website updated with all the fall stuff by next Wed. (Sept 1st). They have offered to ship orders directly to participants since it will be mid-October before shipments begin and that also would save on shipping charges (1 leg vs. 2 legs of postage). So maybe a lower discount is understandable from that aspect. How do you guys feel about it? They are already a premium-priced lily grower in my opinion, but you do get very high quality bulbs (again IMO). But I guess I was hoping to get really good prices again for some really good bulbs for our membership. Am I expecting too much?

Cassopolis, MI(Zone 5a)

Hi Brenda
Sounds like your note back to them was excellent.
I would think that unless they decided they lost money on the first one, that they would have given us the same prices.
I also agree about the quality though and with the reduced cost of shipping we might come out about the same.
They may also think that because they are going to be doing the shipping that they cannot offer the same discount as when they were sending to just one person?
Anyway just wanted you to know that it sounds like you are on top of it and I am sure we will all be 100% supportive of whatever your decisions is!!!!

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

I wasn't involved in the spring coop but I trust your judgment on the prices. I need to quit spending money on more plants this year unless it is a deal I just can't pass up!
Terrie

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Brenda, if you can't get us good pricing this fall, maybe I'll just have to come over and do a little "midnight shopping" in your garden. We new Lily addicts have to get our "fix" from somewhere....

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

The spring one was great, the bulbs where huge. But I am not looking at this one I am closing my eyes its does not exist. lol Brenda you do what you think is best. I was kidding you know I will have to order something. :)

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Waa haa haa, Wanda - they'll be hard to find among the dying foliage. In fact I think all my Asiatics have just about disappeared.

Flat Rock, NC(Zone 7b)

langbr, I'm in, let's go for it! I NEED the BlackJack!!!

Brenda--I'll put a light on my helmet & strap on my xray vision goggles. your lilies may be hidden, but they are NOT safe....

Flat Rock, NC(Zone 7b)

It's all DG's fault!!! :)

Nevada, IA(Zone 5a)

Shazbot, I'm right there with you! I NEED BlackJack too!! lol

Flat Rock, NC(Zone 7b)

Oh, Alice, it's positively beautifull!! For some reason it reminds me of a carnival from the 1920's. Is that weird, or what? :)

If you're still interested in people joining the group - Count me in!

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Brenda, you caught me again! Dang, I thought that I was going to stay out of this coop, but recd. their catalog and got caught.

Let me know what you are offering in the coop, so I can place an order as we are leaving on the 13th of Sept. for a much deserved and extended vacation!!

Maxine

Flat Rock, NC(Zone 7b)

Oooooh, Maxine, we're gonna get in trouble again, aren't we?? LOL.

Mooresville, NC(Zone 7a)

I just found this thread from Brenda's pointer in the Co-op forum, but I'm definitely in! I participated in the Spring co-op and the bulbs I received were monstrous. I just saw the last bloom from that batch last week. In my opinion, they were definitely premium bulbs and I think they're worth paying extra for.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

I've been clearing out back rows & widening beds making room for lilies. I'm in too!

Pleasant Grove, UT(Zone 6a)

Brenda, have you decided to go ahead with this co-op?

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Just got an email from TLG & I will be proceeding. Problem I have now is that I leave at 5am tomorrow (Fri) and won't be back until late Mon. night. I will try to get everything set up to start the coop next week (maybe on Wed?). Watch the coop forum. Thanks everyone for being patient.

I guess the issue is that TLG had some unfavorable weather this summer (hail storm followed a week of rain) that has caused their crop to be smaller than prior years.

To get everyone looking their website is:

http://www.thelilygarden.com/index.html

and we'll be getting 20% off their listed prices plus shipping from them to participants (1 way instead 2 legs of shipping chgs). I'll get started on a webpage to show our prices and links to their images and try to have coop approval early next week.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Yea! Have a great weekend, Brenda!

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Woo hoo! Can't wait. Thank you so much Brenda for all of your hard work on these coops. Couldn't have been happier with the hosta and fern coop you just hosted. Have a great weekend!
Terrie

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Have a great weekend! You deserve it.
I know that I am looking forward to getting away on the 13th.
Had a root canal done today, so am getting behind. Neighbor brought me over a bushel of tomatoes last night to can, so will be making chili sauce for chili this winter.

Flat Rock, NC(Zone 7b)

I sure hope some of their seed packets will be included. I think those would be fun to play with! Boy, they have some absolutely beautiful lilies, I can't wait for this one! Thanks, langbr-soooo much!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

shazbot, i've been thinking of doing some of there seeds too, if we can agree, perhaps we can split them 50-50. i believe there are 50 seeds to a packet. so 25 seeds each of one variety is enough for me. how about you? that way we can get more kinds for the same monies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)debi z

Cassopolis, MI(Zone 5a)

I was thinking about those seed packets too, so if anyone else would be interested in splitting some let me know.

Flat Rock, NC(Zone 7b)

debi_z, sounds like a great plan to me! E-mail me when we know if the seeds will be offered, and we'll see how we can do this. And thanks!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

Rats and worse. How I hate the 48th parallel. I want in too. Maybe I'll have one in Canada next year. It is too late now to start one. It sounds so exciting.
Inanda in Manitoba - who should NEVER move off the Cdn. forums

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Hey Inanda, some of us have ordered from Canada and been well satified with what we purchased. I ordered with two other friends 3 yrs. ago from a canadian lily company and was well satified.
Didn't like the idea that we had to pay extra for the inspection fee, but if you want something, you pay the piper his due!!
