A funny thing happened on the way to DG

Crossville, TN

Thursday I invited my good friend, Linda, to come over and have dinner with us. She had called and needed some help with a sewing project, plus she was off from work with a broken ankle.

While she was here she started talking about her home in SPICEWOOD, TX ....AGAIN! I told her I knew someone in Spicewood....and we came to the computer and started to look at Wingnuts posts on DG.

Linda....that is my friends name...said she wished she knew her real name as she might know her....SOOOOO I emailed Wingnut (Linda) and gave her the information on my Linda.

WOW! It turns out that she not only knew my friend, but was NAMED AFTER HER!!

How's that for "a small world"??

*grin* I wonder if I can now claim "kin" to wingnut? LOL Jo

More, more! So how's acome Wingnut got named after your friend, Jo? They related? Parents were best friends? And how come your friend ain't subscribed to DG yet? Eh?

OK...I think this is Wingnuts story...I'm sure she'll be around to give it to you.

However...I will post a picture of my friend Linda...she is a member of the Tombstone Vigilantes in Tombstone, AZ..."The Town too Tough to Die!". They are a performing group that does shows and parades around here.....so she dresses up and "shows off"!! LOL

Basically, yeah ~ my parents hung around with her and her late husband around the time I was born. Larry and Linda lived on a big ranch up the road about five miles from where I am now, on what's left of my family's ranch. Technically, we are related ~ the Walls (my family) has been here as long as the Hollingsworths (her husband's family), so our families intertwined via many marriages over the last 150 years and Linda married into them. So, in a long 'round about way, yep, we're related! And Jo can claim to be kin now after this I think. *G*

Tragically, Larry died years ago and she moved. Last I heard from her, she was in Colorado. I'm SO GLAD Jo hooked us up!

WOO-HOO! Yep, Jo, that's Linda!!! She does like to dress up and "show off", doesn't she? Just like me. LOLOLOL!

Pretty cool bit of history there!

Thanks!

She is a very pretty lady...and keeps on the go. We used to reserve every other Saturday as "our day"...We'd go over the border into Mexico (to buy her cigs and me stuff like Vanilla). Then we'd stop and have lunch. After I was gone for 2 months...and started having these sore feet...we haven't had OUR DAY for a while. Jo
