All of us have computers. Where does yours reside?

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

My one and only computer is in the room that was designed as a 3rd bedroom, but now a fairly large desk area for computer and another desk for office stuff, but on the top is the printer and scanner. The problem is there are papers, garden catalogs and much else scattered everywhere. When the grandkids come they spread their sleeping bags on the floor if they can find space. Donna

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil(Zone 11)

My computer sits in a corner of my living room, right next to my porch. So I can sit here and browse on the web, or play games, and never let the events of my "garden", like new flowers, thirsty plants after a hot afternoon, or birds who come to feed from the fruits of my Rhypsalys cactus, go unnoticed.

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

Mono, that's doing many things at a time!

The one that I can say 'belong to me' is yet to be manufactured! Probably I'm one of the very few who does not 'own' a puter here on DG and one of the 'cyberslackers' around, still managing to post at least once during the weekdays.

Kim, Howie is wearing a peculiar smile.. what can that be?

balvenie, is that your 'office'?

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Dinu, that's Howie's "I love our doggies" smile. He's a gentle giant. :)

Marysville, WA(Zone 7a)

Dinu, 'office' sounds like work. No, I gave up offices 13 years ago and haven't missed them a bit. This is the spare bedroom that I have filled with my books, music,TV and of course, computers. It keeps most of my clutter out of the way and makes the rest of the house seem fairly 'normal'.

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

We want to do wireless but haven't gone there yet! We have connections in the home 'office' (my computer room!) and the spare bedroom (DH's computer). I NEED wireless so I can surf in the living room. :)

Jerri

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

Mine is in the corner of the family room - look to the right and watch tv or gaze out at the garden, look to the left and see garden books - somewhat behind me is the kitchen - food always available. Thought about moving it into the bedroom, but then I couldn't watch tv and surf!! Priorities!!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6a)

Mine's usually in my hand ;)

Actually, the main guy is in the office at work and in the family room at home, but this guy is always in my hand or truck or pocket or, well just always on me !

I wondered when someone would show a PDA! I have a Dell Axim, but seldom use it for browsing the web; I like a bigger display for that. I do read eBooks on it and play games like Scrabble and Bookworm, though.

Lamar, AR(Zone 7a)

How neat!

Gardenwife,

Do you pay per book or a monthly subscription?

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Hundreds of classics are available for free -- see http://davesgarden.com/t/399193/

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

Mag, what's the quote running on your screen saver..."Love has no....?
Pati

NW Qtr, AR(Zone 6a)

Pati, the quote is ..
" Love has no definition, nor mass .. only immense quality and volume."
(mitey sweet of you to inquire Pati) ..

What a lovely sentiment! Before the wonderful world of retirement and DG, I had on my computer at work..."To sleep..perchance to dream". When my boss looked into my office and saw this running, I'm sure he wondered if it referred to my computer or me. (grin)

Great thread. I love seeing how others live and have there house. I see my picture already made it here before I did.

Detroit, MI

My computer lives in my "workroom". It used to be an extra bedroom but now it holds my computer, a desk, a bookcase full of garden & computer books, and a big work table. (Which is currently covered with gardening catalogs, bowls of seedpods, seed packets, etc.)

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

My computer is in the living room in a corner. I put it there so I could watch my DH while taken care of him. The orchid was sent as condolences. Usually I do not have flowers here but this is planted so I am not afraid of water spillage.
I hope you like my little corner

Nice corner, Maria. I wish mine looked even half as clean and tidy. That painting of the cows is beautiful, and I love that little chickadee; they're one of our favorite birds, so friendly and cheerful.

GW, Richard's Great Grandfather was a physician but also an Artist and a great patron for young Artists. He painted that picture and many more we still have them, all of them are quite bucolic as was the fashion in those days.

Ok finally my library is presentable.
I had to organize it for Thanksgiving since I had a housefull coming. It won't take long for it to become a mess again.

The center photo is a shot of my daughter and granddaughter on TG day.

The little closeup on the bottom left is a carving of the Goddess Maat from where I take my nick. She is the Egyptian goddess of truth, justice and wellbeing, which I wish for everyone.

I have grown to really enjoy this site, and the wonderfully nice people I have met more than any other group I have met. God Bless each and everyone of you and thank you Dave for creating and maintaining this wonderful website. Yvonne

Your spot looks cozy, Yvonne. :)

Yall are too funny! Since moving to my new place, I think I have got my office messy enough to be respectable, so here's the pic.

If you can see close enough, that paper weight you see there in front of the monitor is the hard drive from my late HP. That was HP#1. You are looking at HP#3. HP#2 is over in the corner. She's suffering from Alzheimers. She thinks it's 2002.

I also have a roll top desk back by me with the camera. This is the second bedroom full of desks, book shelves and guitars. (I do keep a fluffy rug in here so Snowy can nap when I'm working.)

Thought I'd try the panorama lens on my camera. This shows more but there seems to be a black blob there.

Two computers reside in the living room ('Amy' and 'Sam'). Three are upstairs ('Pos', 'Jak', & 'Max'), and 'Imp' is in Lexington, KY in my daughter's dorm. All run Debian Linux.

NW Qtr, AR(Zone 6a)

Yvonne and Molly .. doggoneit .. yall jes flat out cheated !! ...
Yall went and cleaned up thangs afore you took any pitters of your 'pooterdoms' !!
Ahhh, ya heifers you .. (heehee)

Yvonne .. looks to be a beautiful daughter and an even more beautiful and precious lil grandy-yunkin gal .. you have there.
Don't they jes bless your heart something gosh awful so .. Hee .. Luv the photo 'collage' you created and posted.

And I agree too, that it seems that most everyone enjoys DG! ..

Hope that all of you folks .. had a wonderful Thanksgiving! And, some of the warmest and blessed wishes are sent your way, for the Christmas season too!

I'm jes hopin' for a white Christmas this year! I know the reason for the season .. it's just that the snow.. sure makes Christmas, jes a lil extra super special. Besides, it's another one of my lil girl dreams, comin' true ... We missed it last year, by a mere day .. hee

I reckon I could somehow manage to clean up my menagerie of a desk .. jes once more for the year .. (heh heh) .. for good measure ya know .. LOL

NW Qtr, AR(Zone 6a)

Lordee cicada .. sounds like yall may have to add on to the house .. to accomodate the toys! .. hee
(jes teasin' ya a bit) ..

May I inquire .. if the 'niknames' are in reference to their manufacturers, or perhaps their processors .. or, maybe given to their seeming 'personalities' each has 'developed' ? .. LOL

If not, jes how did you guys come up with their nik-names ? .. Hee .. Shall we assume, that the 'Imp' in Lexington, is fairly self-explanatory .. and your daughter somehow managed to 'tame' it ? .. hee
