Just wanted to post (in between wiping the tears away) I took my oldest (by birth that is) to get her senior pictures taken today---- I cried the whole time!!! Am I just a BIG Baby!!!! It seems like just yesterday that I gave birth to her. She missed our first anniversary by 1 hour and 54 minutes---so she tells everyone----ATLEAST I AM LEGAL!!! I have to tell her all the time you are legal to me rather we had been married or not!!!! My baby is growing up to fast! Off to locate just the right college---she wants to be a sketch artist for the FBI--- she is an excellent artist.... I hope she will stay with this career! Marie
senior pictures today...
What a charmer she is! I hope she follows her dream and sticks to it. A sketch artist is a valued and much needed carreer gaol.
A beautiful Girl!! Jo
boy can I relate.
She's very pretty!!! And congrats to the family!!
How neat that she knows sign language, too. I love watching the interpreter at our church. The songs really come to life as she artfully does the lyrics.
Beautiful girl!
Beautiful and talented girl!
She is a real doll. I think she has great aspirations for her future career. My oldest daughter was an interpreter for the deaf at our church for many years. She had studied music for 12 years so she had a rhythm that was just unbelievable when she interpreted the music. People always used to tell her that they watched her more than they did the preacher. I still love watching interpreters when they interpret the music.

You have a beautiful daughter. And she can draw!
Osteole--the school for the deaf and blind in Little Rock has all ready requested her to come to work there when she graduates but I feel like she needs to persue a criminal field as a sketch artist because she likes to draw people alot just by our discriptions---I want to say she is a result of Arkansas Tech University!!!! hahaha Marie
What a beauty you have and no wonder you are so proud of her.
yardbird-it seems just like yesterday that she was born and now she is entering the 12th grade. Just makes me cry! Marie
What a pretty and talented young lady your daughter is. Congratulations on a job well done. Donna
Thank you Donna she got all of that from her DAD!!! Marie
Me thinks thou art much too modest, Marie.
Marie,
You have such a beautiful DD.
I am almost in tears reading your post, cause I know one day...sigh...and all too soon, I will be in your shoes. Mine is just 6 now, but those 6 years have flown by so fast. I enjoy every minute of her. I just don't know how I am going to do it...and gulp...let go.
Good luck to your DD.
Marie she is beautiful. And talented. My sister use to teach a deaf classroom. Now she is works with autistic pre-primary children. My DD graduates this year also buy you are much more orginized then I am I have not yet made her appointment. She works for the photographer but can't make her own appointment. Love the drawing my son is the artist in our family I have one of his etching from highschool framed. But he wants to be a teacher he will make a great one kids love him and vice-versa.
Sandy
Sandy- there is something about men teachers. I have found that the male teachers that all my children have had, have made the most impression on them. We have this one particular male teacher here and he will show up at school functions and the function basically comes to a stand still. All former students go running to shake his hand or hug his neck. He has taught so many children so much that he will never be able to be replaced. But he teaches each child like that child is his. That makes a big difference. He doesn't have any behavior problems in his class because the students are caught up in the learning process that they don't want to cause problems. The parents love him as much as the students. I am not organized by choice! It is mom we have this and mom we need to go there and here and here. I am just a token on the game board. hahahah School pictures here have gotten outragiously high! I don't know what parents would do with twins or triplets or more. She brought home the price list and they started at $340 packages. I almost hit the floor. I thought to myself am I going to have to mortgage the house to get your senior pictures. You know they are expensive when the students bring a credit card application stapled to their senior picture order form. No joke! Marie
IMHO he will be a great teacher. They say children have a natural instinct about people they can tell he is good just from his eyes. It is not unusual for him to be at the park or a movie or on a bike ride and have kids just stop and smile or wave at him. Senior pictures are horrible!!! luckily (in this case) we have a very small family. The wallet size are the ones that are gonna break me she knows EVERYONE. The photographer she works for is amazed she has known all but 1 person they have photographed so far this summer.
What a beautiful and talented daughter you have. Don't be modest about your input and influence in her life.
I am so proud of her but she did get her looks from her daddy no joke. She is proud of herself and that tickles me for the world is in such a nasty shape. It seems that all tv commercials and teen music degrades the young girls these day and it is a true shame. It is like they are born with low self esteem. Then when they get to their teen years there is the "vultures" out there preying on the low self esteem girls. Then before you know it they are in a abusive relationship, not just physical but mental and emotional. I guess what I mean to say is she knows that God loves her and she loves HIM and she puts her faith in him and when it is time for a soul mate she will leave it up to HIM to send him. Thanks ladies for the wonderful comments but it is so hard to let them go out into this cruel world.
Marie, it truly a mean old world but you just have to put them in the hands of the Lord and trust that He will care for them. If you have raised them 'right" they have the necessary background to take them through life. It has never been easy for parents to send their kids out into the cruel world and the world has always been cruel. Think... through the ages ...how many have sent their loved ones off to war or to another land where opportunities would be better. Many of them never saw those children again. Even in this country, think how many set out on trips into unknown areas and died never seeing their families again. History is filled with stories of how lands were settled, how wars tore countries apart, how pilgrims set out for other places, and on and on. It has always been a hard world and has been rough for parents to part with their kids.
Elena--- Your words of wisdom spoke right to my heart, thank you so much. I needed to hear that and I could just feel the hug that came with it! Thanks again Elena for my daily pick me up! Marie
Lovely, lovely daughter, and a thread with a good message. Looking at the world from the far side of 70 years, you can either dispair of what seems to be the downfall of the human race, OR...you can remember that this has always been a rough and tumble world and the cream will always rise to the top! You obviously raised an "extra heavy whipping cream" daughter. *grin*
Tune in tomorrow to see some real tears. It is my oldest daughter's 53rd birthday!
Pati
P.S. I raised twin daughters also....it ain't easy LOL
Oh Pati-- wishing you well on your oldest daughters birthday! I hope is the best birthday she has ever had! Marie
Glad I could be of some help to you, Marie. I forgot to add the hug to the message but I am glad it was understood. Hugs always go with my messages, by the way, whether I remember to write it or not.
Hugs,
Elena
Thanks Marie, for the birthday wish for my daughter. It's hard now, but in the future, when she puts that first grandchild in your arms, you'll wonder why she didn't grow up sooner! *grin* That's your reward for being a good mother.
Pati
Elena-- you do not have to add it to your post, I can feel it in the text. Love you!
Pati- that day I look forward to but at the same time that means she is grown :.( They grow up way to fast! Marie
Marie, Love you too!
Elena--- I started lots of cuttings for you today and they should be well rooted for the round up--can't wait to get to Mt. View and swap!!!!!! Marie
Good luck! You will probably be getting from me the already rooted things that I already have but I am going to try one more time just in case. I'm not as optomistic about them as you are about yours, however.
Elena knowing that someone would like something that I have tickles me! I love to share and that makes me happy to start things for people but I am not always successful! hahah But I do try! Marie
((((Hugs)))) and smiley face coming from my location in Nashville just for you, Marie.
