Wow, all the way from Boston. : D The bloom "was" beautiful and smelled oh so good, and then....DS decided to try and act like he was playing a horn, I told him dont do that youll break it off, he said(with the confidence of an 11 year old) no I wont, and then POP it came off. : (.
Luckily for me the second bloom had opened up earlier that day so I still have one bloom until the rest get big enough to open.
Congrats to your cousin a new spouse. I hope they have many happy years together and lots of tricycle motors around the house.

I dont think he cared for my almost in tears but not yelling expression. LOL I dont think hes gotten within 3 feet since he did it AND he gave me a big ol' hug right after he did it.
It still smells so wonderful that even my tempermental 14 yo DD sat outside yesterday just to smell it, I think she was out there for a good half hour.
