:) I get a real joy out of reading a comic strip daily on my homepage website. It's never anything worth rolling around laughing over, but I usually get a small chuckle out of "checking out the comics".
So who's your favorite? I can't go a day without seeing and reading Garfield. That writer really hits my funny bone, as I am like John, only I'm owned by two cats instead of one. When Garfield and Odie talk, I swear that's what my puppy Allie is telling cat Hobbs on a daily basis. :)
What comic strip do you like the best?
Favorite Comic Strip?
I dont read the comics.
Once upon a time I did read them, so I guess I'll choose Dagwood?. I really like the way the wife and him was clashing in some way :D
Garfield rules!
Marmaduke!! I have saved a bunch and added the names of my dogs to them.
Piranha Club..my favorite...!
But also enjoy Cathy, For Better or Worse, One Big Happy and Zits.....
For Better or For Worse! Jo
My favorite is Mother Goose and Grimm, but I really enjoyed reading Calvin and Hobbs when they were in publication.
GET FUZZY! Bucky Rules!!!!
Jo, I am with you.......For Better or For Worse. DH and I cut them out for each other.
Meem
Dagwood/Blondie, Spiderman, Mandrake, Dennis the Menace and a host of others. I simply love them. I see even the cartoon a little deeper. The lines, the backgrounds ....
I like Viivi & Wagner :) http://www.helsinginsanomat.fi/viivijawagner/
They also made Valentine's Day stamps of them last year http://www.posti.fi/images/kuvitus/pmk/merkit/iso3265.jpg
Marmaduke, Dagwood, Dennis the Menace, Family Circus, Garfield, Beetle Bailey... (not necessarily in that order!)
Pogo.
Too bad it's not still around.
Foxtrot, Baby Blues and Zits. :)

Dilbert and Garfield! I used to get Rose is a Rose but not anymore. :( I liked it too.
I have some classic out of print Rose is Rose books. Back when I first fell in love with the strip, I bought a couple and learned there were several that came out before them. I e-mailed Pat Brady and -- miracle of miracles -- he knew someone at United Media who had a few copies of his old books around still. The result was, I was able to buy them at their original cover prices! I was thrilled, just love them.
right now mine is zits because i have a teenage son!
Dilbert - definitely! - I spent so many years in his shoes.
I was enjoying Get Fuzzy each morning and then a few month's ago the local newspaper took a customer vote and got rid of the comics that came in the lowest. Get Fuzzy did not fare well. I geuss alot of people just don't Get It!
ROTF, I *love* those comics, BWV. I didnt' know that's what they were called. I've spent (way too much) time standing in greeting card aisles laughing at the cards featuring these comics.
Get Fuzzy and Dilbert.
BORN LOSER and peanuts! :)
b.c toooooo
Thanks Blooms, I just put Ballard Street on my Yahoo Page. Looks like a good one =)
bloom county (gone but not forgotten) , Family Circus, Rose is a Rose and Peanuts.
Frankay, I LOVE it!!!
Thanks.
Frankay, your 3-decade old art is fantastic. I also have done some smaller things, copying the drawing from comic cover pages. I enjoyed doing that. I always failed to give a proper shape to Casper or a Tweety. I found them so difficult. No curve would match the original! They were so unique. I have done many of the characters that were on in my time, about the same time as Frankay. Now it is my kids' time to draw their famous characters .. Mickey and Minnie.. Pokemon..
I used to read Comic Books when I was younger not anymore but I do watch cartoon on tv show sometime when it is bored. LOL
My favourites are For Better or Worse have to read it everyday he he, then Crankshaft and Zits anyone that has had teenagers can really relate to it lol :~)
Oh DARIUS, I miss Pogo too. At Christmas I still sing "Deck the Halls With Boston Charlie" LOL
Frankay, good to see Albert again. Thanks
GW, so it was YOU giggling on the other side of the card rack! I used to spend so much time reading the cards, people thought I worked there.*grin*
Pati
Of course, Peanuts! Oh, I feel guilty not mentioning it first before my *other* favorite.
Darius....I know you were too young to vote back then (for Ike), but Pogo ran for president...and he ALMOST got elected....LOL
I lived in Richmond, VA at that time and just before the Tobacco Festival Parade...kids in cars were running up and down Broad Street chanting "I GO POGO. " It seems that Ike was due to make a vote-for-me speech about that same time. Well, the platform fell just as Ike got off it....So much for the Republican Platform that year!! LOL Jo

How about rehearsing some of Capt. Haddock's vocabulary? This is another character I missed to mention ... Asterix too.
Mother Goose & Grimm; and Close To Home. I love the offbeat stuff!
