Telescope Question

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

I am looking to purchase a really good telescope for the cabin. We have a Bushnell at home and like it a lot, but I don't know much about the mm and power in order to compare one to the other.
Any help appreciate, I don't mind spending a few hundred dollars for a really good one, but just don't know what is good and what to look for. Want to be able to zoom in on an object (deer) from several hundred feet/yards?

Ours is a 10in MEADE and its huge but man its clear
Its like landing on the moon!
Id say go to MEADE's website.

ours is like this but 10inches its a bear to haul around something to think about!

I will do that.

My DH suggest that you get one that automatically tracks by GPS - we have to try to manually set ours up with the timers and all and it hardly ever works right. Hence we don't use it much. Spend the extra money it costs and get you one that has a GPS/Auto track system. It's worth it!

Good luck!

haighr, last year we wanted to purchase one for our DD, I don't remember where I saw it, but it said don't even think of purchasing one for under 200. The review said that anything under that price is not worth it. We didn't get one yet, keep us posted on what you find out.
