Where to post cut flower question?

I've posted in perrenials, but, I'm really hoping for an answer soon. I'd like to cut some hollyhocks to bring indoors. I read that their stems need to seal to prevent wilt. I did the cauterize thing over the stove. No luck. I'm going to try 15 seconds in boiling water. Hope that works. Anyone else know how to do this?
